Was in Coronation Street from the very first episode playing Ken Barlows brother.

Following a very big row with my old man (actually quite funny when I look back on it), I left home at 16 and got a room in this big old Victorian house which was owned by Alan Rothwell who lived upstairs with his wife.

Being so young, he became like a second dad, really looked after me.

He was a lovely bloke.
