    Rochdale keep appearing and I’ll add to their votes. Lived within walking distance of Spotland (I’ll continue to call it that despite the name change) and saw many a game there. 

    Bromley also as the local club to where I grew up

    Plymouth went to the poly there in the 80s. In the dying minutes of the last game this season they were in the playoffs until as always shit happens.

    Have to say Bromley.
    Had an old work colleague who played for them back in the 60's when they were little more than a park team.
    Turned up for training pissed on a few occasions and still got in the team. RIP Dave, a great bloke but a shite left half!
    They have done tremendously well these last two years. Will give Leicester a run out next season!

    Arsenal, my 1st football match was the 1971 cup final when they won the double.
    Plymouth Argyle, I had a friend from school who was a fan & sometimes we’d meet up in London and watch the green army.

    After seeing The Who play at The Valley in 1974, I ended up with a real soft spot for the club named after the band that opened the show — Montrose. Ever since, I’ve always checked for their result on a Saturday.

    sunderland   yes  had the same reaction  from their fans  prior  to the leyton orient game
     also   always  hada   soft spot  for ayr united as charton  hada   a player called bobby ayre ( no connections ) in the 50's  when  i was a  small boy ( 9 oldpence  to get in the valley then  for me !)

    Torquay United - saw them beat Bolton at Wembley when they were managed by Cyril Knowles and it felt like a real underdogs day out.

    Newport IOW - used to holiday on the Isle of Wight a fair bit and always took in a game whilst there.

    Lechia Gdansk - only game I have seen in Poland and somehow fell in with a UK supporters group who were there.

    You mean you didn't crawl under the turnstile like me? 9 old pence was a bag of nuts and a bovril.

    Have always 'supported' celtic north of the border as my dad put me onto them and was first subbutteo team he got me but have a soft spot for Hibs after 30 years of reading Irvine Welsh novels and them having the greatest football anthem in history.

    Can't have been many better fan experiences than this....

    In the early seventies I had friends the sons of the Vicar from the church right next to Plainmoor.
    Spent a summer living in a tent in Dawlish and working on a building site between Dawlish and Torquay.
    In those days Torquay often played on a Friday evening, and whilst the building work went on I would spend my Friday evenings watching them so developed a soft spot for them.
    I also like Dulwich Hamlet.

    Shamrock Rovers as I’ve got family in Tallaght near the stadium, went to see them against Sligo Rovers, great game. Also had an ex from Rome and went to a couple Roma games which was quality tbh!

    I thoroughly agree with this sentiment. I could never, ever have a soft spot for any of the game's "giants". Can't really understand anybody who supports a smaller club like us doing so, it just goes against the grain.   
    Yes, and I have a ’hard spot’ for anyone who supports a big club unless they have a legitimate connection. All these tossers around me wearing PSG shirts really are starting off on the wrong footing. If I had two traders offer me a quote and one had a PSG shirt on, I’d be influence enough to accept a more expensive quote elsewhere.  For me, in my warped football mind, PSG and Palace are the same club.

    Soft spots: St Etienne (lived in Lyon for 5 years when they were winning everything so I had to adopt their rivals  + I loved the band St Etienne already anyway), Brighton (hate Palace too)  Carlisle ( lived there for 2 years).

    Stockport County. My family are from Stockport and they are one of the first teams I got to watch.

    Shalke. Was lucky enough to go to see Dortmund a while ago. It happened to be the Ruhr Valley derby against Shalke who whipped them. The Shalke fans that we were sitting near were incredible. They have been in the second division for a couple of seasons and they were still getting crowds of 60,000! Won promotion this year so back in the Bundesliege where they belong. 
    In the UK there are a lot of teams that I check results for but in particular Lincoln, Plymouth and Brighton because I have lived in or near these places in the past. I also have a soft spot for Forest Green because of the vegan connection. Having said that I did go and watch them when they were in League 2 and the atmosphere at their ground was awful!

    Dartford as my non league team - followed them home and away back in the eighties.
    Deportivo de La Coruña here in Spain, and yesterday they confirmed their return to La Liga after eight years in lower league misery, including a couple at almost semi professional level. Big night celebrating the promotion.
    Calella, my local village team. Also promoted this season.
    Follow the results of St Mirren in Scotland, RKC Waalwijk in Holland and St Pauli in Germany.
