Hoping CL can come up trumps as usual. Looking for a nice spot for a Tuesday special occasion lunch in town in a few weeks’ time - weather permitting to enjoy a terrace or garden. Open minded on type of food. Fairly central West End / City or eastern location as have West End theatre in the evening. Don’t mind splashing out a bit if it’s worth it.
Thanks in advance for ideas.

Borough Brasserie. Backdrop Southwark Cathedral. So 5 minutes ish from London Bridge outside and inside space. Tapas style, but decent choice and excellent cheese option. Quirky toilets1

Coppa Club - right next to the Tower of London and great outside terrace.
The Swan at The Globe is decent, but the terrace isn’t large so can get very busy.
Forza Wine at the National Theatre.2 -
OXO Tower has an outside terrace1

Went there last week. Thought it was excellent (food and ambience). Will be back.1 -
You can see a video of it on Southampton's YouTube channel, allegedlyCovered End said:

Haven’t been for years, but I used to go a lot to Le Pont de La Tour on the South Bank about 100 yards from Tower Bridge. Had my retirement dinner in a private room inside but has a number of tables outside with uninterrupted views of the Thames river traffic and the bridge. Expensive but a good choice for a special occasion.

Not been for years, but Coq d'Argent at The Poultry is nice. You eat on the terrace.4

circe's rooftop waterloo. They have food but it's mainly small plates or sharing platters.1

In The City, you've got Wagtail by Monument or Los Mochis by Liverpool Street1

Thanks for all these ideas - know a few but not all. Will take a proper look! Anymore ideas welcome.0

Not an issue if you go for a rooftop, but you tend to get more sun on the terraces on the north side. A lot of the south side bars are in the shade for a good part of the day.1

Good thing about a lot of the options along the Thames is that they’re close to piers. Definitely recommend using the Clipper to then get yourself towards the West End.0

Barge East is good fun, very near West Ham's ground and on a canal boat with an outside terrace...food is very good0
