The days when top players would want to play in the Champions league has long gone with Chelsea getting the likes of Rogers from a team in Champions league to a team with no European football. No surprise when your bank account shows a few million pound paid in.
    1-1 no Konsa offside.
    0-1

VAR bollocks, that's another decision VAR got correct 🤦🏻‍♂️
Surely players want to win things rather than just play in the champions league?

ultimately got more chance of winning more trophies than with Villa

Aston Villa won the UEFA cup  in May 2026 !

Once Rogers went, their best players all left including Konsa to Arsenal and Watkins taking the Saudi millions.

Hopefully Chelsea win fuck all in 26/27

Tzolis booked for doing a Danny Mac.
Have the refs been told to crack down on it more this season? Don’t recall regularly seeing players getting booked for it last year

Chelsea’s no 29 looks like a softer Ivan Mesík

Yes it became a mandatory booking but can't remember when🤔

Blimey O'Riley, it came in at the beginning of 23/24 season but if feels only in the last two seasons have more yellows been given out for the imaginary card wave.

You would've to be thick to do this if you had already been booked.

I think Pedro Neto looks similar to Ivan Mesik but he's number Seven.

    Arsenal still gonna win.

Arsenal looked a lot weaker when Odegaard and Havertz came off but never looked close to conceding.
"Arsenal didn’t concede a chance worth more than 0.06(xG) against Chelsea."

Two top sides with the best team winning.
Rice didn't take prisoners and no wonder Rogers was fuming with Declan after being fouled.

Nobody getting near Arsenal this season. They look a top top side and if they played PSG I’d fancy them to win.

A fully fit Odegaard (and Saka) for Arsenal will take them to another level.  Best game Odegaard has had in about 18 months.

Some of their build up play first half was excellent.

Yep. Was really impressed by them today. Potential to be one of the all time teams.

Think Havertz plays that old Firmino-esque role to perfection as well when he's fit.

As Villa have just sold their 5 best players the only thing Birmingham's best club will win is either the Championship title or the play off final over the next five years !

I agree, i think they will win the league by 10+ points. No Saliba, no Timber, plus Eze and Bruno G didn't play either. If they fielded a team of the subs/players missing yesterday that team would probably be strong enough for top 6 by itself.

But the latter stages of the CL are a different animal. The reason PSG always do so well is because they arrive at that point of the season pretty fresh because they can usually rest players in their league ahead of big CL ties. However it could be different this season. PSG have started their season very poorly so they might actually have a battle domestically and if Arsenal can walk the PL, it will mean they can rest players when we get to April.
  • Hilarious that down to 10 men Palace managed to equalise against Ipswich, only for ex Spanner Flemming to score the 90th minute winner.

They're definitely relegation candidates this season,  especially as 2 of the promoted sides now have 2 wins already.

Unfortunately I can see them getting Eddie Howe who would keep them up

Been a good start to the season for Arne Slot. Maybe he wasn't quite the problem he was portrayed as

Or maybe Iraola shouldn't be credited with this bad start because after all this is Slot's team

Frustrating Fulham didn't finish the job when winning the other night.

Had a slow start at Bournemouth and that went ok to be fair
  • Funny Spurs have scored 0 in 4, we look prolific in comparison.

One of the best penalty saves I've seen in some time.

Iraola is a very strange appointment. By all accounts he had connection with Hughes the sporting director but to go from Bournemouth to Liverpool is a huge jump.

Did a good job at Bournemouth but there is almost no comparison to managing Liverpool. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they have a pretty poor season. They are one of a few clubs who appear to have spent an absolute fortune yet have huge holes all over the pitch.

A really poor summer transfer window is to blame i think.

They didn't sign a right back, they didn't strengthen the midfield so are still left with the same 3 as last year, and they went out and spent 120m on a left winger when they already had one.
