Thought this quote was interesting and might go some way to dispelling the myth that any of our players are lazy (not that many of those people will read this thread!)

“Predominantly we look at high speed running and sprint distance as our two main KPIs across the league,” Sanders explained. “We’ve experienced a significant increase in both metrics since we’ve been promoted from League One, probably a 30% increase across both metrics"

Very very interesting. I knew that modern football was, to an extent, data driven. This essay has taught me just how much tactics and selections are determined by data and statistics. Slightly scary in a way. I'm sure A I will have an even bigger influence on modern sports, everything from clothing and footwear to tactics and player management and selection

What it doesn’t measure is attitude.

It kinda does, as well as anything can. A player with poor attitude is going to have poor physcial stats

Christ, I think I hate what football's become. Although tbf this is so many LinkedIn buzzwordy ways of saying 'the players run a lot' rather than granular KPI microdata wank

It felt like I was reading a LinkedIn infomercial for the software more than anything with any kind of insight into the club

I still think there’s a lot of tactical mileage in “spread out”.

I think West Brom away is probably the highest ground in country. But I don’t think high enough to impact performance
