Panama v England | World Cup Group L | 27 June 2026

Tuchel’s men will want to put Tuesday’s disappointing nil nil draw behind them when they play Panama later today.

Reece James is confirmed out for the game (and likely round of 32) while there are reported concerns over both Rice and Anderson (though both are expected to play after all?)

I'm expecting a France like performance in both attacking intent and quality of play to show we are worthy contenders, putting us right in there with the other contenders. 4-0.

Opportunity for disappointment. Why waste it?

Yes. The third place teams are all on 3 points we have 4

But we don’t know where we’ll finish in the group yet so a win is still important

I Think getting the early goal is key, get that and i'd expect 4 or 5.

We need a confidence boosting result. I don’t think Panama will play as defensively as Ghana which should hopefully play into our hands.

Well, that's what I had calculated, but I hadn't seen it mentioned (probably was), so was wondering if I was wrong/miscalculated. Thanks.

Hoping Ghana was just a case of us being hopeless against the low block.

Worried about injuries so if we can get a couple up
I’m hoping subs are quite early.

Would like to see Rashford start.

Why not a repeat of 2018 WC will do....6-1.

I think we need to drop Diana, she's just not done it out on the left in this system so I think it's time for the people's Princess to make way, probably for Rashford. Alternatively Morgan Rogers could probably do a job on the left cutting in as Tuchel wants from that player.

But seriously we need a statement performance here. Plenty of goals please. Kane Hat-trick would be good as I got him for golden boot in my predictions league

Nearly posted earlier that I thought Quansah might start but didn’t want to get Lol’d out of town, turns out I should have done it

Quansah is to Tuchel as Luke Berry is to NJ.

I know it’s our weak point, but I find it funny how many people are moaning on twitter about how we aren’t winning a World Cup with that defence - Argentina won it with a 74 year old Otamendi, a bang average Romero, one fullback who played in the Dutch league and the other played for a crap Italian team.

Yeah, but they did also have the best player to have ever played the game.

Yeah that probably helps. They still won it with a pretty average team + the best ever player. No reason why we can’t win it with a good team that includes the best striker in the world.

England team: Pickford, Quansah, Konsa, Guehi, O’Reilly, Anderson, Bellingham, Rogers, Rashford, Saka, Kane

O’Reilly to step into midfield, Quansah to slide over to make a 3 and a front 5 of Saka, Rogers, Bellingham, Rashford and Kane. It’s pretty attacking from Tuchel

The folly of taking two injury prone RBs to the world cup.

The pundits banging on about Quansah playing RB like we have to have a rigid back 4.
to me it’s looks like a more fluid 3-4-3 or even NJs lopsided line line up

Would have been three injury prone RB’s if he’d taken TAA as lots wanted. I saw earlier today that he’s only played 90 mins 13 times this season!

Saka does have more defensive ability than Madueke too.

Will maybe line up very close to a back 3 but with Saka bombing on more.
