Well, they did play us in the Anglo-Italian Cup so their place in the history books is secure.Radostanradical said:

Shame, but once that crook Cellino was in they were only headed one way.1

Interestingly they already have a phoenix club in Serie C however it’s more of a MK Dons type scenario.0

Am so glad I did not get that £50 coach.

A sad tale, I saw Brescia beat Inter 3-1 at the San Siro around 2002, Inter were at a low point but back then Brescia were no mugs. They just avoided relegation from serie B in 2025 but then got docked 4 points for bad debts which sent them down. Worse than that, they couldn't meet financial guarantees and were then excluded from Serie C. They were declared bankrupt last year, and the Mayor of Brescia invited another serie C team, Feralpisalo, to play in Brescia and they became Union Brescia. For all intents and purposes the original Brescia were defunct, I think this latest story is just the official liquidation. I took an interest in all this as I saw the original Feralpisalo play in a serie C game last year, and noticed they had disappeared from the league table the following season. I assumed they'd gone bust but in fact it was a change of identity.8

It’s a real shame, but they will probably reappear in some other guise. I don’t think it’s that rare in Italy.2

Sad. I don't know how it came to that, but it's the fans I feel sorry for.3

Reading this thread prompted me to look up Parma FC. Currently in their fourth iteration, and they've already gone bust and been reborn twice this century! Like the Trigger"s Broom of football clubs.Uboat said:It’s a real shame, but they will probably reappear in some other guise. I don’t think it’s that rare in Italy.
So I suspect you're right and Brescia will be back.6 -
To think Cellino’s name has been linked with us on occasion too.5

The very same Parma who were in the CWC Final in '94.MrLargo said:

It was in 1993. I got a free ticket for the final as I was working for an Italian bank at the time.ElfsborgAddick said:

I believe Benfica have hit hard times and have slipped dramatically down the Portugese leagues…..anyone know anything about that?0

They finished second last year and the year before didn't lose a single game and had Mourinho as manager... Think they will be alright 😂SoundAsa£ said:I believe Benfica have hit hard times and have slipped dramatically down the Portugese leagues…..anyone know anything about that?0 -

Or maybe Bellenenses? They're in Lisbon too. Saw them a year or so back against Varzim dreadful match one shot on target between them.ForeverAddickted said:

We were going to a Sporting game but it got moved to a Monday so went to Bellenenses instead.2 -
Mmmmm……looks like I misunderstood a listing in a fixture list for a very insignificant competition…..which I couldn’t believe they would be competing in.🤔0

I gather Lisbon is good for a groundhopping weekend.

Boavista have gone to the wall - all kinds of corruption and chicanery. We were actually in Porto last week and in sympathy I bought my son a Boavista shirt - in a city dominated by the mighty FC Porto - while walking around in the Boavista shirt, he was being accosted in the street by all kinds of strangers, shaking his hand and thanking him for his support. Boavista seem to be the people’s club in that city.6

Estoril is in the area, you could go there and watch our future midfield star.ElfsborgAddick said:iaitch said:
