    13, 15 and 16 all being missed out suggests to me that we are hoping to have someone to fill those space as it seems odd to just skip over them completely otherwise.

    Nobody wants 13! But yes, maybe 15 and 16 are reserved for new signings - shortly to be known as the best midfield partnership in The Championship.

    I think 13 is more a superstition thing, not many players like to take it usually.

    15 and 16 I agree must be for the RW and CM.

    Edwards, Burke and Knibbs all dropping into the single digits

    Squad numbers for Asiimwe, Olaofe and Kanu can't be read into too much, we gave numbers to people like Ahadme and Taylor last year for instance

    Can’t believe Kaminski isn't a number 2.

    13 = M
    15 = O
    16 = P

    Jonesy playing the MOP system, similar to the sweeper system but water tight

    Must be getting an Italian in - 13 is a lucky number there.

    Rob Apter with No. 30 looked a bit ominous at first glance, but can see he had that number last season

    At least Knibbs isn't wearing 41 anymore

    I genuinely thought he already had it but I’ve just remembered that was Berry

    Squad numbers are really annoying to the traditionalist, but that the way it is these days, don’t really mean a lot other than being in the squad. For me seeing 99 on a football shirt is just a bit odd.

    La Liga have a 1-25 rule, and no one can take numbers outside of that unless they're academy players, and even then they have to be consecutive

    Chalobah takes a very acceptable number 15. That leaves 16 for the other midfielder and then the winger has a very serious choice to make.

    16 feels like it should be a defender’s number in my mind.

    Holsgrove 13 would have some aura, as the kids would say.

    So Keenan Gough was the proud recipient of a squad number for all of 24 hours

    I hate to remind some people but Sweaty Balmer wore the No 1 shirt one season. A goalkeeper he was not.

    Pointless bureaucracy. An indication that La Liga is employing too many jobsworths.
