Timothy Ouma signs on a season long loan

Maybe. I think what we're seeing is it's a lot easier to come on in this team than it is to start. The starters have to keep things tight and run the opposition ragged and the players who come on are fresh against very tired legs. I reckon if you'd swapped the two we might be worrying about Ouma and praising Mwamba again. It's the nature of our team, a lot of players will get the chance to benefit from coming into a stretched game this seasonCrispywood said:Much better than Mwamba when he came on tonight probably played himself into the starting XI Saturday26 -
Thought he did very well last night.
Along with JRC and Mesik he was part of changing the game. Always looks for the forward pass and isn’t afraid to take a risk to get us moving which you need sometimes.
I think he’s gonna be just fine.
Not sure we will see him start at Stoke just yet - reckon Skipp will come in on Saturday5 -
He did well though I closed my eyes a couple of times as he launched into challenges. I’m expecting a fair few yellows along the way.0

Looked to be a little behind the game when he first came on but once up to speed showed some of what he's about, reckon it'll take a few more cameos before fully getting there.3
-
Shame we didnt hold out a few more minutes, what with the changes being prepared when we went the goal down2
-
Much better last night in a very tough match to come on at that point and play as well as he did .. really pleased for him7

What a nice problem to have, Ouma looking decent last night, Mwamba looking great when he's come on in other games, Coventry starting the season really strongly, Chalobah looking good until the injury, Skipp to come in too, we're very well stocked in the middle of the park now5

Stepped up for sure, he's picking up on the intensity of the champ bear pit.0

I like that about him, he's not going to be bullied by anyone and he'll leave bruises on plenty of shins. But he's got some genuinely impressive passing range and vision in the locker too, he's no one trick pony.Weegie Addick said:He did well though I closed my eyes a couple of times as he launched into challenges. Pleased to read the positive reviews following his league debut. Earlier in the week someone on one of the Charlton themed podcasts suggested we might want to look at loaning him out!2

We shouldn't write off Carey either... he was an excellent player for large parts of last season and whilst he's not been his best so far, he hasn't disgraced himself in these games. It's a big relief to not have to use Docherty...sam3110 said:What a nice problem to have, Ouma looking decent last night, Mwamba looking great when he's come on in other games, Coventry starting the season really strongly, Chalobah looking good until the injury, Skipp to come in too, we're very well stocked in the middle of the park now
and i'm a huge fan of JRC. His performances against Cov and Pompey last Xmas were excellent and unique to anything else we had in midfield and I was disappointed he didn't play more. Still hope to see more of him this season. He makes effective forward passes that none of our other midfielders (last season anyway) would ever play, look very straightforward0 -
What a bloke

Exactly what I was thinking. Personally, for me the best free podcasts are Charlton Live and Into the valley (YouTube only)AberystwythAddick said:

If would be cruel to name and shame, because clearly it was a ridiculous and uninformed proposal. Suffice to say it wasn't either of the two pods mentioned.Chawlton said:

Why? Don’t they do such podcasts for people to listen to?Kips said:

Thank the lord we only got him on loan, send him back in January2

Maybe give him the rest of the game at least?Crispywood said:Thank the lord we only got him on loan, send him back in January5 -
22 years old, new country, new team.Thrown in after only 30 minutes in midfield and a 5-1 loss to Tottenham.Horrific management.4

Yeah he's lacked composure and decision making which was always going to happen given the above mentioned factors. Still think he could be a good player.SELR_addicks said:22 years old, new country, new team.Thrown in after only 30 minutes in midfield and a 5-1 loss to Tottenham.Horrific management.1 -
Maybe we are getting all our bad luck for the season out the way in one go0
-
He had some good moments as well but he's clearly struggling to adapt to the pace of the league.
There's no way it's a penalty, sorry. You'd be giving four or five every game. I'm not going to blame him for that one.

There were signs he wasn't ready last week. He will need time. Drip feed him minutes when we're in the latter stages of home games..
Not slap bang in the middle starting in a trio who have never played together before at a game away to Stoke ffs..
A Jones head fart.. They happen from time to time3 -
He needs time, playing alongside a debutant hasn't helped, but he has been very poor. He will improve.1

damn that was bad0
