Lookie, AFKA, massive thanks to you both. An unbelievable website with so much history, humour and passion.

This probably is the best football forum out there. Just the right size for human connection, ITKs, and all the information you need to follow us. Happy birthday CL!

I joined in 2008 and my wife will you that I spend way too much time on here!
My wife thinks this place is full of ultras and is a bad influence on me!

I gave AI a young me to use as a basis and it made me look like a young polish whizz kid and then it aged me to look way older than 38... I guess that's what this forum has done to me.

Here from August 17th 2006, so that’s a pretty long run from watching us be shit at West Ham, after a very messy night with Buckshee in Fabric, to us nearly about to play them again 20 years on, and working out how me and Buckshee get our lads to Spurs next week.

Been mainly a pleasure, I’ve mellowed out, taken breaks for my own sanity, and still haven’t got a badge.

Thanks guys for the last 20 years. I've been on since 2010, always interesting to read peoples views on not only Charlton but various other topics. Here's to the next 20 years, and thanks to all for your contributions.

    Henry 86.9k

    Charlton Life .

The birth place of Fanny's Tingle and the Kent "rain dance ".

But most importantly, since 2009, to feeling part of the real Charlton family.

Thanks for putting up with me, brothers & sisters, & thanks to our very special Founding Fathers and the work they continue to do.

Fanny will always love you All.

    I'm 12 today 🥳 20/8/14.

Belated 20th birthday wishes to Afka and Lookout, the surrogate fathers of Charlton life.

Similar to Crick and Watson, and their discovery of the double-helix structure of DNA, Lookout and Afka had this twisted ladder shape idea which could be filled with posts from Charlton fans and critics.

20 years later the baby has grown into an eclectic mix of the sublime to the ridiculous with professors of the beautiful game pontificating and the cerebrally challenged saying about the grade of shit a player or performance achieved.

To infinity and beyond for Charlton Life 👏🏻💪🏻

Thank you to AFKA and Lookie for all their work and to the many friends, real and virtual, who I have come to know through this forum. Always an entertainment and, just occasionally, a real lifesaver.

    Slightly belated congratulations! 👍🏻😊
What a site… had a few good laughs on here over the years, and some sad times too. Always a place to come back to, so thanks AFKA and LookOut, it’s a brilliant, well maintained site, you should be really proud of the community thing you’ve set up here.😊👍🏻
And I promise not to sing 😑

Sometimes it doesn't matter how many millions you make from doing something.
It's still nice to be told you are doing a good job by someone.

I've never met a webforum I haven't eventually flounced away from in utter boredom, except this one. Simple as that

When you realise some of the posters on CL are AI platforms…

But you don't understand. We might make a signing. And then we'll play a match and everyone's Player Marks will be wrong. The thought of not being around for either of those things is frankly horrifying

Agree with everything said that this is definitely the best football forum on the internet. This place has helped me get over tough times in my life also so thanks to the admin for all the hard work over the years. UTA.

I can attest to that. At the lowest ebb in my entire life the CL family were there for me in spades - that can't and won't ever be forgotten.

    Such a special community.

    Blimey!!
Congratulations Afka and Lookout, many enjoyable discussions back in the day on dial up internet!
Still see many of the originals from back in day on away days, would like to know what became of HugoZHackenbush, Danepak. They were welcome additions on railway journeys with Ms Lat on the family railcard!  Maybe occasional posters? 2017 last time on search 🤷‍♂️

HugoZHackenbush…..great poster back in the day, both on here and NetAddicks……met him a few times, came across as a really nice fella.
He had strong associations with Sweden and moved back there a good few haircuts ago…..I assume he’s still there?
Hasn’t been on here for many years…….he was a 100% full on Addick, I find it hard to believe that he somehow doesn’t stay associated or at least informed in some way or another.
He was great pals with Latimer.
If you get a whiff that there’s folk on here who’d love to hear from you, give us an update on your well being and what your’e up to.🤔
