Bexley Hight Street Road Closure

Just been informed by someone I know in Eleanor Hospice shop that Bexley High St will be closed to through traffic from September 7th to early January 2027 while those wonderful people from Thames Water lay new plastic pipes.

    Suppose we shouldn’t complain that Thames Water are actually trying to do something to prevent leaks but that will crucify shops/businesses in the high st.

    What will be the diversion route.....via Thanet Road  ?

    The same road was closed just about a year ago for an extended period?

    They've e been doing the same in Sidcup, from the A20 down to the station. Although it's not got as far as the old police station yet.

    Oh, and they've had to go back and redo a bit outside the hospital because it started leaking AFTER they'd put the new pipes in.

    Add to that the road past New Eltham station is closed - again, lost count of how many times that is in the past few years now - because of another burst main then you could say I have absolutely no confidence in them.

    Yes, that's what I was told.

    Wait until you see the diversions due to happen on Woolwich Road due to A&H Lane road works.
