I'm not the sulky type, but when West Ham won a penalty in the dying seconds, I admittedly felt very downcast. "How frustrating to come so far, yet only leave with a point", I thought. Not so @MrWalker. He predicted a 2-1 win for Charlton and was never in any doubt about the score. Sure enough, Castellenos, with his stuttering run-up, did what we all wanted. That scoreline gave @MrWalker a much-deserved bonus point and contributed to a healthy score of 7 points. While many were stumped by some surprise scores this week, @Bill_Stumps went one better in two ways - firstly, by scoring 8 points, but, secondly, by getting two scores correct, both with bonus points - the first competitor to do so. In a tough week, 51 competitors scored zero, and as many as 8 games had only one correct prediction. And while we're discussing records, I am top of the league for the first time this season. Believe me, finding a couple of jumpers for goalposts in Charlton Park during this heatwave is not easy. Why no one fancied predicting the Doncaster v Barnsley game, I'll never know, but it was a strange week. At the top, @BertieB, @Bill_Stumps and @Coveredendchoir are looking down on us all with 9 points; they'll just need good eyesight to look far enough down to see me.
