Imagine our backup plan is to revert to 3 at the back with Danny Mac or Bell joining the back 3 and Asimwe and - say it quietly - TC as the emergency wing back options...

FutMob has Harry Clarke listed a the middle cb of a back 3. Surely that’s not right?
  • was actually quite impressed with Asiimwe on wednesday

he played most the game on his weaker left side and got moved at least 3-4 times that i noticed even playing cb at one point

Still young and room to improve would look for another league 1 loan
  • Hope ouma get back soon

Afternoon campers, welcome to the Circus of (Injury) Horrors

The weather has changed about five times in the time it took us to walk to the ground from t'other side of Charlton Park.

Rain? Or the Lord Almighty's tears as he's still upset at Wednesday's starting XI? 🤷‍♂️

No he’ll be RCB or RWB if they are playing a 3. Interestingly they’ve been playing 4231 so far this season so would be a switch in formation

Who would be on the bench ? Sichenje / Mesik, one of Ramsay or McNamara , Edwards. So we’re only missing Kelman and Godden of relevant bench options

edit : or attacking ones anyway .

And after the wholesale changes in midweek that philosophy is now being applied in the stands.

Grandson no 2 has been rested/managed/dropped after wanting to attend a friend's birthday paintball session in Dereham this morning so it's a rare first team outing for granddaughter no 1.

It’s the lack of a cb on the bench mainly. Obviously nothing that can really be done about that but mildly concerning

    No Doc again
He’s training on the pitch on his own with a coach.
Is he taking his passenger licence?

Players need a career to fall back on when playing days are over ...

For one match I guess Chalobah would cover there if needed. Sure we'll get cover in by the next one.

Asiimwe on the bench in the Championship? Blimey. I expected a League Two or NL move by now.
I don’t understand the dislike some of our fans have for Asiimwe. Was decent last season in league one, yet you think he should be playing in league two or even non-league!

I'm scared by those defensive options. Praying for no injuries.

Omg, the Charlton Park cafe has added the personalised sandwich I've been ordering for the past decade plus as an actual menu option! The Leuth :D

Good morning from Bend, Oregon. Here in a quick holiday.

Team as expected. As I mentioned in the pre-match thread, this feels like a big game. Preston have made eight signings this summer, and yet it also feels like they're there for the taking. Let's hope so.

    COYR.

Just Charlton and Millwall left from the 24-teams with a 100% record.

It is crass.  He wasn’t even that bad against the money of Spurs and had to play a couple of different positions .  It’s what I always say - youth products actually get a harder time than imports .

Absolutely gobsmacked by the lack of the defensive cover on the bench, it's not as if we had 3 defensive injuries on Wednesday that might affected it today? Absolutely scandalous!!!

Not many game changers on the bench & only 1 defender. Bare bones already.
We have 8 first team squad injured. Thankfully the window is still open
Something is not quite right if this is happening after only 4 games.

What’s he done to suggest he’s that bad ?
Where do you think he should be playing then?

Only possible starting XI. Not a single Championship level player on the bench though.

Thought he was close to being our MOM on Wednesday
