Good evening one and all….

Tonight it's a midweek trek up to the Midlands to The Hawthorns, and what could prove to be a very tight encounter with WBA, who currently sit in 7th spot after suffering their first defeat of the season last Saturday 3-1 at Middlesborough, after winning their first two matches. One person I am sure will be looking forward to the match will be Karlan Grant, having spent six years there 2020/26, I am sure he'd love to score the winner there tonight.

TEAM NEWS…Sichenje, Ramsay, Godden and Koumetio will likely miss out, while the game comes too soon for the return of Kelman and Edwards, who are getting up to speed returning to training, Mannion will also be unavailable, while Chalobah will be assessed after he was forced off Saturday. Meanwhile, new arrival Tyler Bindon could be involved for the first time after the defender landed on loan at The Valley from Nottingham Forest. As for the Baggies, winger Mikey Johnston is their only injury concern.

HEAD TO HEAD…We've played the Baggies on 64 previous occasions, winning 22 and the Baggies 21, while the remaining 21 encounters have ended all square, our last meeting at The Hawthorns ended in a 1-1 draw in February, with Lyndon Dykes’ 70th-minute strike cancelling out George Campbell’s first-half opener, our last victory away at West Brom came in the Premier League in September 2005, with Danny Murphy netting a double in a 2-1 win.

Farai Hallam will be the man in the middle.

We'll be donning the red home kit for the clash against the Baggies.

New signing Tyler Bindon will make his Charlton debut this evening in tonight’s game against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns

Alan Mwamba makes his first start as Nathan Jones makes three changes to the team that beat Preston North End on Saturday. Millenic Alli, who assisted Karlan Grant’s winner last weekend, also comes into the line-up for his first Addicks league start.

TEAM…Charlton: Okonkwo; McNamara, Jones (c), Bindon, Bell; Coventry, Mwamba; Alli, Grant, Campbell; Leaburn

Subs: Brooks, Mesík, Ouma, Rankin-Costello, Knibbs, Carey, Apter, Nkeng, Mbick

Mwamba starts, Grant plays in the 10 and there’s a debut for Bindon

Interesting to see Nkeng and Apter on the bench
Looking forward to seeing Mwamba... Carey is on the bench Fen. Basically the eleven I predicted, just Bell starts instead of Mesik which surprises me a little

Grant in 10? Alli and Campbell on the wings

Well I got that wrong. I thought starting Grant as the "10" would be too bold in an away game like this. It's certainly attacking!
  • Grant to get the winner tonight, and back to No1 spot we go...

Wow. Great line-up. I hoped NJ would go for the 11 that was used in the 2nd half on Sat. Great for Mwamba & hope he shows his true potential.

Didnt expect Nkeng on the bench either.

    Exciting times ahead.

Three changes seems a lot when we just won two in a row but some is forced and the others more or less mean we start the "improved" version from Preston

  • Looks like a very attacking team. Bit concerned we might leave us exposed at the back.

My only issue (being picky here), is starting Bell. I would have had him on the bench, unless that is the plan Saturday.

Ah, who cares. Let them worry about us for a change.

And in the land of the West Midlands where best to have Alli Campbell.

Good team, but where’s our defenders on the bench! Only Mesik

No defenders on the bench, other than the borderline JRC, showing the issues caused by the squad rules and transfer deadline day. If this game had been played before the deadline, then I'm sure Asiimwe would have been a sub. Indeed I'm slightly surprised Josh Laq isn't on the bench as an emergency defender.

If  we go 1-0 up, we don't have the subs to come on and kill the game off, so I expect us to either win or lose 4-3!

Was about to say the same two things!

Thought we might rest Bell, he's a risk playing twice in a week.

First game this season I'm not watching. I'm playing footy tonight, bring back Tuesday night games!

Could be a busy game for Coventry! Love Mwamba but think his skills lean slightly more to the attacking side.

One defender on the bench looks a bit dangerous. Very attacking bench but by default I fear.

No Knibbs involved? Edit Just seen he's on the bench, what a helmet

I think Mesik is a defender

Mesik on the bench can cover LB and CH.
