Someone on the other site who they seem to think is ITK claiming Mesik, Skipp, Ouma and JRC all in.
Has something in modern football changed or is it our intense style of play which is preventing players from playing regularly which they always did in the past? Only 5 games in and people dropping like flies already.

There’s absolutely no way that they could know thatDamoNorthStand said:Someone on the other site who they seem to think is ITK claiming Mesik, Skipp, Ouma and JRC all in.

To be fair someone seemed to know the Cheltenham team and I think there was some team news leaked for another game tooAberystwythAddick said:

Then they need to wind their neck in as that info can be picked up by the opposition.4

Conceding so much possession to the opposition means you do a lot of running. Must be exhausting so I’m not surprised if we need to rotate.DamoNorthStand said:Someone on the other site who they seem to think is ITK claiming Mesik, Skipp, Ouma and JRC all in.

Issue is that the law of averages and luck should normally mean some don’t quite make it and some just about make it.
When’s the last time we had someone back in the line up we didn’t expect who just made it back? We must be due one or two surprise inclusions on the bench. Sounds like Kelman and Koumetio are both very close.

Or LaqeretabuaLeuth said:If anyone wants a clue as to our midfield today, Coventry came off at the end despite having a stormer last game (Nathan framed it as giving Carey a chance to kill them at the end again). I suspect he will get a much deserved rest and that he is one of the knocks sjh referred to
Okonkwo
Mac Bindon Jones Mesik
Skipp Ouma
Grant Carey TC
Leaburn
is my prediction. If Mac has a knock then fuck I don't know. Bell LB, Mesik RB. If Bell also has a knock? Alli will have to play there or something terrifying like that. Argh0 -
Kelman will be a useful bench option .DamoNorthStand said:

Maybe a 4-3-3 if it is true.
DMac, Jones, Bindon, Mesik
Ouma JRC Skipp
Grant Leaburn Campbell
Just can’t see any of those midfielders playing a jones style 10 for a 4-2-3-1Or a 5-3-2 and Campbell/Grant is being rested and Bell comes into the back line.0 -

Exactly the team I'd pick.DamoNorthStand said:In terms of resting and keeping an eye on the next game….. surely we are always keeping an eye on the next game. Understand this is a condensed run of matches but otherwise we will never play our best team. At some point you have to just play your best eleven.
Think Bell is an exception as he is an injury risk so should be swapped for Mesik, and maybe Mbick needs to do the first 60 and Leaburn the last 30 this time:
Okonkwo
McNamara
Jones
Bindon
Mesik
Skipp
Coventry
Grant
Carey
Campbell
Mbick
Thats 4 changes which is a decent amount.
But then its all down to NJ, not me!0 -
Hit em with Leaburn and Mbick all at once for maximum horrorball?0

Where we are conceding so much possession and keeping it tight we are probably forcing the opposition to run around and use up a lot more energy than we do ourselves. Much of what’s happening is we are basically shifting chess pieces to block moves and force the opposition to change tack, fall back and start again. One or two Charlton players moving a few paces is often causing 4 or 5 player moves by the opposition to come to grinding halts and do a 180/270 change in direction to start another fruitless attempt. That repetitive failure can also start to get soul destroying for the attacking team and inevitably can lead to reckless and misplaced shots and passes which we are starting to intercept because we’ve effectively been taking a breather whilst the opposition runs around.se9addick said:

Only 5 games in and people dropping like flies already. As long as we restrict goal scoring chances and preferably keep them outside the box then they can have 90% possession if they want though I doubt they’d be fit enough to keep that going for a full 90.0 -
I’d take a point since we haven’t had much time to prepare properly because of the stupid calendar. The longer we hold it tight at the back the better for us, if we start slowly it might be a long few hours but if we silence the fans and get them to turn it might be good. Won’t be pretty though.
Hope we can give Galbraith a whack and make him less effective.Leaburn needs to be up for a fight today with Lawal. Campbell might thrive against Johnson who is physical but has a mistake in him.And their keeper stuck in my head for either having a blinder or a shocker. Nothing in between. Hopefully it’s a shocker0 -
My only prediction is that our manager will get stick from the home fans.0

I always think it’s odd (although potentially unavoidable sometimes) that one team has 24 hours more rest than the other in situations like this. Feels like a real unfair advantage. A lot of our team will be starting on aching legs.
Feel It might be a step too far today and we lose by the odd goal. Would be peak NJ to get something out of this though0 -
I don’t ever recall you predicting anything more than a point in a game for us, so with that in mind we win this one😜oohaahmortimer said:Stoke at 6 to 5 is buying money
Our rub of the green will even itself out , giving up so much possession won’t always work.
I’d love a point but don’t expect it .Saying that, a win and they might as well give us the title .0 -
We got the Preston Monkey off our back with our victory after 6 straight defeats against PNE so can we at least get a draw at Stoke where we have lost 11 times on our last 14 visits ?
A draw would be excellent in staying unbeaten but we can dream...

NJ and the team did so well to get Bindon and Skipp in, our potential line up for this game would be an even bigger headache without them. Not sure of the score but really hope Leaburn gets a goal.1

Coventry, McNamara both on the bench so not injured. Likely rotation to keep options fresh.0 -
They always are. Obviously a leak in the camp they need to look into as you can’t have someone telling their mate the team 4 hours before the game5

Testing the squad today0

Interesting Knibbs doesn’t get a look in ever, he can’t be happy with that?0

So presuming 3 at the back with Mesik and JRC as the wider players … with Mesik bombing forward …. Or have they neutered TC and made him a wing back?
Really surprised Bell is the one being kept in.
Good news is that it isn’t injuries as the others are on the bench….. so hopefully get some back into the squad on Weds and start to build the player pool back out again0 -
