Think he's giving you a shoutout @Airman Brown

"In the absence of any plan emanating from the Boardroom, the main narrative surrounding the club was mostly propagated to the fanbase by some guy who had worked in the ticket office twenty years previously."

Can we change the title to, we’ve got nobody else other than Ouma to moan about, so let’s just c**t off Charlie who  left ages ago because we don’t hold grudges that much.

seriously whether he was liked or not by certain posters, do we have to go through this witch hunt again, surely it’s all been said already.

It's amazing how people will take credit for something so shamelessly when they didn't do much.

    Cya never Charlie.

Surely he meant "disgruntled employee who used to work in the ticket office"?

Yeah, but you sure he didn't change at Hither Green then get the Sidcup Line to Mottingham? :-)

Typical corporate PR spin we see in every walk of life.

Top 6 indeed after a few games means nothing - we narrowly avoided relegation  operating on a much touted minimum budget is a more accurate statement but doesn’t read as well!

Can understand that leaving Bromley is a come down where ever you move to but didn't he go to live in Jamacia?

Charlie is a marketing guy and the thing he is best at marketing is himself.

Personally don’t get the insults on here. There is no doubt that the club was in a much better place when he left than when he arrived, how much if anything was down to him I haven’t a clue but dont personally see him in a negative way
I agree. There are many more people at the front of the axe to grind queue in recent years than Methven.

Rather than focussing on the past, I think the biggest concern is that we still have no CEO, and barely anyone with any senior sports or football 'business' knowledge in the building on a full time basis.

Not to mention a seeming inability to hire or manage a sponsorship team to drive Championship level commercial revenue. We did more deals in that first 12 month period than we have this year.

So to echo @stop_shouting - think people are focussing on the wrong place.

But was the dig at Airman really necessary?

And to be fair, the same can be said of Sunderland too.

Of course he's very good at promoting himself, but a bit of credit for the turnaround of the 2 clubs has to go in his direction.

It’s not a witch hunt, it’s discussing an article he’s posted himself about our club 🤷‍♂️
Where people on here are only too willing to put the boot in,on a whole new thread that will no doubt go over old ground, with lots of bitching towards him. Far from perfect , but far from the worst of people to be involved in our club.

Because Airman has never had a dig at anyone in the past has he?

Will be interested to know what he was paid for his shares in the club. Will it be disclosed in the accounts eventually?

Dear me, "some guy who worked in the ticket office 20 years ago"? Feeling a bit bitter, by any chance?

I have never met Charlie Methven and haven't had much involvement in the last four years due to other commitments, but I'll happily pitch my involvement at Charlton since 1988 up against his any day of the week. Unlike him I've never been banned from the ground, either.

I've also never worked in the ticket office!

I'll not ask you to elaborate but this is VERY amusing :)

Methven could put on the back of postage stamp what @Airman Brown does not know about things connected to Charlton.
    Methven makes me vomit.

Given I’ve never had anything to do with Methven, I think you can safely assume that’s on behalf of other people mentioned. It doesn’t bother me as I don’t rate any of them. And it just exposes Methven as a shallow little man. It has no relevance to anything.

However, we should question it on its own merits, ie whether I was responsible for the narrative around Sandgaard, Duchatalet, Southall and Jimenez/Slater.

Or whether it was just one big shitshow. I think you’d be hard pressed to argue otherwise.
