Major train issues on Norwich line today, so not sure how many of their fans will make it. Wonder if it’ll impact the KO time.0

Norwich is not the team.we should face when looking for that first win in 8 games, recent results against them have been poor. This could be a repeat of the Watford match again. First goal wins it but I am thinking 1-0 Norwich.0

Yes, let's drop our top scorer and current best player because of your personal vendetta.RonnieMoore said:Weather is going to be the winner awful day predicted … which makes the game a mockery and the team who makes less mistakes will win .. …… still remember comments from NJ that he needs to use the squad and players he been to loyal to changes will be made … with that in mind the team for tomorrow .. 4132 attacking formation … in goal one more chance for AO he needs to show us what a good keeper he is back 4 Ramsey Jones Billy Mesik .. the one defensive mid Skipp the three in front Knibbs Carey Ali front two Kelman and Godden … there a brave team one that would win .. can we see NJ keeping his word no not really Campbell will still play … …. Having said all that Norwich was the best team seen at the valley last season they out played us ….. not sure about them now but they are a dangerous team ..we have 4 games 3 at home if we can get 7 points we hit the 20 mark after 15 games ……tomorrow 2-1 to Charlton
I'm going with golfie's predicted team. Think it will be Alli rather than Nkeng though - just don't see Nkeng coming from being out of the squad to starting.2 -
This is Norwich’s best chance to break their run also. I think both teams will try not to lose, another standoff game where no one takes initiative2

Kelman has played 12-27 minutes in each of last 5 games. Love to see him start today and get 60 minutes. Hopefully he’s at that stage of fitness. Do feel he’s the best chance we have of getting the goals we are missing out on too often every game.3

Norwich arrive here on a brutal five-game losing streak, having conceded 21 goals already this season. Their biggest frailty is they haven't kept a clean sheet in 17 consecutive Championship matches, and when their full-backs push high, they leave absolute acres of space behind them for centre-backs to get dragged out of position. We should attack them from the off to test their fragile confidence, and let Leaburn and Campbell use their pace to exploit those massive gaps in transition.
To do that, we have to ditch the Skipp and Coventry pairing starting together where they just bump into each other for 90 minutes.
I would go for a narrow diamond to fix our abysmal vertical transition:
- The Chalobah Dilemma: Nathan Jones confirmed Chalobah is finally back in full training. When he started earlier this season, we won; we haven't won a league match since he went off. He is the only midfielder we have who passes forward with genuine urgency. If he is fit enough to give us anything, start him. Let him dictate the tempo for 60 minutes with Carey and Knibbs playing narrow to protect his legs, then bring Coventry on to close it out.
- The Alternative Plan: If Chalobah realistically cannot start after a long layoff, Jones cannot just default back to the passive Skipp/Coventry pivot. In that scenario, put Coventry at the base of the diamond on his own to sweep up, and give Carey and Knibbs strict instructions to drive forward into the half-spaces to support Kelman.
A narrow system forces them to crowd the center, which ironically should free up Ramsay and McNamara to act as the primary outlets to overlap. We aren't creating anything from wide areas as it stands anyway, so let's control the middle and try to suffocate a fragile Norwich side.
My XI for Norwich:
GK: Okwonkwo
DF: Ramsay, Koumetio, Mesík, McNamara
DM: Chalobah (Coventry if not fit to start)
CM: Carey & Knibbs (Given license to actually push forward)
AM: Kelman (Tip of the diamond where his finishing bursts can actually hurt teams)
ST: Leaburn & Campbell (Pace and power to stretch them early)
Risky I know but let’s get at them from the first whistle.

On the train into London for a breakfast and beer. Not confident after last week’s debacle but we need to turn this around sooner or later.
Norwich have not drawn a league game this season so that probably change this lunchtime
Set up to win and not play 7 defensive players today Jones.2 -
Wind forecast has dropped right off so might not be as attritional as expected 👍 let's see what the teamsheet brings.0

Good to see Fenaddick come off the bench to do the preview:
Forever Addickted has been given permission to speak to Palace by AFKA and the Premier team (For one more season) are prepared to give a packet of Jaffa cakes and Chocolate fingers for every preview.
This really takes the biscuit and does FA wants his cake and eat it ?

Big game for us, my friend Steve got his ticket already he supports Norwich0

It's the main lunchtime game for Sky; of course the KO time won't be affected.PeakieRocket said:Major train issues on Norwich line today, so not sure how many of their fans will make it. Wonder if it’ll impact the KO time.0 -
If Jones sets up defensively to nick a 1 0 win against a team right out of form, then he is a clown irrespective of whether we win or lose.Uboat said:That Norwich have lost five in a row and are still the bookies’ favourites really says something about the state we’re in.I expect Nathan will set us up to nick a 1-0. Left home at 7:10 and it was cold but dry and barely any wind.ArmchairAddick said:Wind forecast has dropped right off so might not be as attritional as expected 👍 let's see what the teamsheet brings.
Now at Macca's in Newmarket and still no wind or rain ... actually quite bright and sunny.
Fingers crossed it can stay that way for the rest of the day so that our feast of footballing entertainment doesn't get ruined ...2 -
I would say if this game was 3pm it would most likey been called off for supporters safety given the severe weather warning for Kent and southeast people been advised to stay off motorways etc0
-
If you are on a bad run then we are the team you want to play. I have been fully behind NJ but if he sets up to try and nick a 1-0 again then i think im done. I cant see us winning today but tbh i would take a performance that has signs of actually trying to play football0

Not sure how you could watch our midfield get walked through every week and then think that team is a good idea. We’d concede 5 by half time68/9er said:Norwich arrive here on a brutal five-game losing streak, having conceded 21 goals already this season. I get the worry about protection, but look at why our midfield is leaking goals right now. It's not a numbers issue; it's a structural one.
Right now, our midfield gets walked through because it's entirely passive. It literally gave both Watford and Bristol City the confidence to come out, press our slow double-pivot high up the pitch, win the ball, and run straight at our exposed centre-backs. We handed them those wins on a plate by being completely toothless in transition.
Shifting Carey and Knibbs narrow isn't exposing the midfield—it's actually reinforcing it. It packs the central space, compresses the lines, and gives whoever plays at the base (hopefully Chalobah) immediate passing outlets to bypass the press.
If we sit back in the same old, pedestrian system against a Norwich side that has lost 5 on the bounce, we are just going to repeat the exact same mistake and give them their confidence back too. Surely the best way to protect our defense is to take the game to them, dominate the middle of the park, and force Norwich to defend their own fragile backline from the first whistle.
