Just seen a new CEO has been appointed, not seen anything about him before and completely out of the blue although much needed!

Ben Mansford could have some big decisions to make soon as I expect the buck will stop with him.
Interesting to see the pecking order now at CAFC with this belated appointment of a CEO.4 -
It seems to be in triplicate.
This thread was started at 5.05 👏🏻0 -
Welcome on board Ben, you clearly have gained alot of experience as a CEO at other clubs. I do hope you will now sort out funds needed for Jan Transfer window from our owners, as without them we’re only going in one direction which none of us want. Yes we have progressed in last 3yrs but this will mean nothing if we return to League One.

This is the first.
Welcome Ben, don't know much about you but you have relevant experience and we've needed a proper CEO for a long while, longer than 19 months.12 -
Previously worked with Massimo Cellino at Leeds. Wasn't he linked with taking us over before?1

Apologies for starting a thread at 5.04pm. I've asked the mods to delete mine (which was the first) as the later threads are receiving more attention.12 -
I’m hedging my bets on which to thread to post on re: my thoughts, I’ll circle back in about 30 mins13

Well it's what we've been wanting for ages.
So a warm & hearty welcome to you Ben 😁2 -
Watch out Jonsey, he's good mates with Keane 🤪😝🤣🤣0

Had a bet with myself that the name in the announcement was going to be Timothy Ouma. Oh well.0

You're right.
I arrived at the far post and timed my jump perfectly.
I nodded the ball back across goal and turned away to receive the adulation of the Covered End ... only to see kidbrookaddick tap the ball into the unguarded net just as it crossed the line.
The Dubious Threads Committee will have to deliberate on this one.24 -
Don't worry about it mate, the linesman raised his flag anyway.Dave Rudd said:soapboxsam said:Dave Rudd said:Henry Irving said:This is the first.

Years ago but Cellino has wanted to buy every club at some point. He’s busy bankrupting Brescia at the moment.kidbrookeaddick said:Previously worked with Massimo Cellino at Leeds. Wasn't he linked with taking us over before?1 -
“Charlton is a club with the ambition and potential to compete at the highest level and I’m excited to work with everyone connected to the club as we pursue our ambitions together.”None of that ambition in the budget sadly.10

Statement from Leeds when he left:

I expect this is why our board like him:
‘He also played a key role by assisting in the process to bring investment to Elland Road in the form of Andrea Radrizzani.‘

Seems to have previous for bringing in outside investors. Fingers crossed this was done with an eye/go ahead of an outside investor and isn’t just a panic prothero appointment.2
-
I guess his lower league experience will come in useful.
Can’t fault our owners ambition…oh2 -
Kenny Miller is current head coach at Maccabi Tel Aviv by the way. I’ve seen his name mentioned here recently…0

Can we have a team to compete at this level this season first?FishCostaFortune said:“Charlton is a club with the ambition and potential to compete at the highest level and I’m excited to work with everyone connected to the club as we pursue our ambitions together.”None of that ambition in the budget sadly.2 -
CEO appointment announcements like buses. You wait ages then 3 come at the same time ! 😉😀13

He could still do a job upfront. Good to see the Inter Milan connection is finally paying off.Swisdom said:Previously worked with (currently unattached) Robbie Keane in Israel.......16 -
Looks like a positive appointment. Hopefully screened by one, if not all of the investors and appointed with a view to either help drum up further investment as has been mentioned above, or drive greater accountability at a senior management level. A new CEO appointed in most businesses generally signals forward momentum.Really hope Jones can do enough in the next three games to retain the support of the board and we build back for the rest of the season with an eye on some Jan additions2
-
Excellent. We have a new scapegoat. 😉16
