Back to Marcel, I hear the family have asked for a quiet funeral.
While fighting in Normandy he was captured by the Germans but they couldn't get him to talk.
On a serious point I didn't know much about the guy until I saw he had died. He fled France to avoid the Nazis, was with the Free French, presumably in London/England and was liason officer with Patton after D-Day. He also lost his father, a Kosher butcher, in the camps. He took up dance and mime after the war. Respect as the younf people say.
i remember going along to see him in his show at saddlers wells once...it was a corporate jolly, drinks before hand, drinks in the interval, sleep through the second half, drinks afterwards...
