" " as he would have said.
  • I wonder if he'll get buried in a glass box?
  • Had the speaking part in "Silent Movie" if memory serves me right.
  • correct Len, "NON" was the only word spoken in the whole movie
  • I quite liked watching him, the problem was I couldn't make out what he was saying...............:-)
  • We should have a minutes silence at the next match
  • he was indeed the king of french comedy.

He must of been, I can't think of anyone else.

    And he was so unfunny.

Back to Marcel, I hear the family have asked for a quiet funeral.

While fighting in Normandy he was captured by the Germans but they couldn't get him to talk.

On a serious point I didn't know much about the guy until I saw he had died. He fled France to avoid the Nazis, was with the Free French, presumably in London/England and was liason officer with Patton after D-Day. He also lost his father, a Kosher butcher, in the camps. He took up dance and mime after the war. Respect as the younf people say.
  • I feel sorry for his wife. Apparently he's been giving her the silent treatment for the past 62 years......
  • He never had much to say for himself.....
  • That's the problem with his type. All action and no mouth.
  • i remember going along to see him in his show at saddlers wells once...it was a corporate jolly, drinks before hand, drinks in the interval, sleep through the second half, drinks afterwards...
