Have you ever been so unintersted in todays "big story"?
Do you know what? I have already forgotten where I was when I heard Menzies Campbell had resigned.....
I'm interested, although I follow this kind of stuff anyway, and it was funny watching them all give the "of course we didn't knife him in the back" line last night.
It'll be a tough sell for them to make a household name of whoever wins it, though.
That's unfair - he has been a disappointing leader, but was a very good politician previously, especially as shadow shadow foreign secretary. He probably should have stood for leader (maybe he did) 10 years ago when Ashdown stepped down.
Maybe Ming could do the same as Kinnock be a European Commisioner get on the gravy train provided by UK and other EU countries tax payers. Invite his family to have EU support roles for him like the great socialist Kinnock has done.
Shame for him, a great elder statesman, unfortunately those in the media want so called 'bright young things'. I honestly think he walked rather than was pushed tho. Having lived in the flat next to him a couple of years ago, I dont think he's the kind of bloke that that would let himself be pushed.
He didnt stand in 1999 for the leadership. Will be interesting to see which of the young turks gets in. Huhne, Laws or Clegg, any of which I would be happy with.
Believe it or not dont we still have a representative democracy in this country, meaning we elect local MPs to represent our constituencies, when I lived in Yeovil both Paddy and David Laws were far better at representing the constituency than my current Labour MP Richard Burden.
The problems the electoral system, in Yeovil for example a vote for Labour is a wasted vote, thats the intrinsic problem.

I think that is more interesting than his political career.

Agreed - back when politicians had lives before entering parliament.
