anyway, politics is frowned upon on here so i'll run away now...
Oh yeah, forgot - it's because they have an overwhelming sense of self-importance and like the sight of their own views up on a website so much. Sad.
it's more the endless negativity and cynicism - I love a political debate, I love a good rant, but this sort of stuff is like having a brick thrown at you, and then being expected to have a conversation with it.
Why post a response to it then?
Take your "overwheiming sense of self importance" and sod off!
Having a "Non Sports Related" category doesn't give you - or anyone - an automatic excuse to go on about your political views. Come on mate, it's all been done before. You've got your view, other people have got theirs and airing it all again on here isn't going to make a blind bit of difference.
Yeah, I "don't have to read it" - but that ain't washing with me this time. I'm a member of this "community" and if you ain't posting in the spirit of the site them I'm gonna pull you up on it.
Now, let's have some posts about the worst burgers at a football ground or something truly enlightening.
;o)
Agreed. If youre not interested in a subject dont read it and especially dont tell everyone why they are wrong to be interested in contributing to a subject that youre not interested in.
Smacks of hypocrisy!
KEYBOARD WARRIOR ALERT!!!
Believe it or not mush but I'm trying to do something for the good of the board here, but you know what - I might just do that with clowns like you about.
WTF are you on about now pete? Second thoughts, forget it mate.
And as for you Dan ..... tut tut.
All this thread would be is some people having a moan about the EU and then people like me (are there any? responding ... then repeat ad nauseum. Pointless all round!
I would have thought you of all people would have understood the point I was making. Shame
I agree. And replace with Valley McMoist and the rest of the MPO....
Think its Off It's pre-Friday lunch adrenelin nerves kicking in....
You clearly have issues and I can't be arsed to get into a slanging match with you although if all future topics need to be vetted by you can we have an official announcment at some point.
I can't agree with you all the time Dan - people will talk!
Too true. Anyone would think Smudge had brainwashed you....
I'm just trying to take a bit of the pressure off you to enable you to concentrate on your campaign to be the fans director old son.
I've been working on some slogans. Was thinking of something like, "He's short, he's round - he'll get you value for your pound - AFKA". I think it gets the right message across.
It therefore amazes me that people are reluctant to debate these important issues in a civilised rational fashion.
I agree that personally abusing those that take the opposite viewpoint achieves nothing and would hope most people on here are above that.
Final observation for those who ask what has the EU to do with Charlton? Plenty but Bosman will do for starters.
If anybody is interested this site is very enlightening and you can learn a lot.

Sure you don't mean Euro Offy?:-)
It was the Tory party that took us into the EU...
With due respect to Len and Pete, there are parts of this treaty that are good for our country with regard to the previous treaty(s). There are some areas we have conceded as this is what happens when 20 plus nations try to reach a common position.
For those calling for a referendum, we have never had ones before about specific European integration issues. Maastrict was far more significant, as was the Single European Act, both agreed and taken through Parliament by the Tory's - yes thats the same party who is insisting on a referendum now.
The only national referendum we have ever held is the one in 1975 as to whether we stay in or leave and was done to solve a split in the Labour Cabinet and not for some altruistic or constitutional reason. Our country is a parliamentary democracy without a written constitution, thus we have no constitutional case for referenda. If we are to have such referenda in the future, we really need a written constitution which spells out exactly where sovereignity exists in our National Parliament and how the people should be consulted to change that sovereignity and what threshold must a yes vote hurdle. I will however concede that as we have already had an "in or out" referendum, precident has been set for others on a similar basis.
The three main parties all promised (rashly in my view) a referendum on the EU Constitution but what we have now is a treaty. That it is substantially the same as the original document, although technically not a Constitution, is undoubtably correct. As usual the position they have reached allows those countries who were in favour of the original constitution to say its over 90% the same so isn't that great, and those countries who never wanted it in the first place to say it's sufficiently different and definitely not a Constitution. This is the usual EU fudge.
For my part I think that Brown has a political problem to convince the people that this is not the Constitution and thus it appears that he is breaking a manifesto commitment. That is why he was hoping to have a snap general election on a new manifesto/mandate which avoided the earlier pledge.
Personally for a country such as ourselves to remain in a club like the EU, which is now much larger than when we joined then I believe the rules need to be streamlined and qualified majority voting agreed on a wider basis.
So was the Battle of Britain fought in vain, is our country going to disappear after this Treaty is ratified. No of course not and nor are any the other 20 plus countries going to do likewise.
Our future lies in Europe and we should learn to live with it.
If those who want a referendum get their way, the treaty will be lost and we will effectively leave the EU in partial paralysis given the negotiated position that each country has signed up to. If they come up with a later treaty and we have another referedum, that will be lost. Eventually our EU partners will move on leaving us out in the cold, neither properly in or properly out.
So in the end for me its simple, there have been big changes in the EEC/EU since we joined and since 1975. It is time to go back to basics. If we are going to have a referendum, lets have one now on staying in or coming out. For most who oppose this treaty this is really what this debate is about in my opinion.
What ever the outcome is, that issue must be put to bed for another 30 years. I'll be voting to stay in and campaigning for it.
