Well if they offer it to you, you're probably gonna have to dig up Alfred the Great to accept it! :-)
Don't think lots of people realise what he does other than on the football field.
perhaps it is aiming a bit high, but why not?
Ms Latimer wrote him a letter to say thanks for his shirt he threw to her at a game this season, he wrote back to her within 2 days! Yes, he's a nice guy, but he also does thankless things for charity every day that people don't know about, one thing I learnt about recently.
I wrote to him last year, sent directly to Watford's ground, and via his Icons site. Didnt get a response. Was v disappointed. Know he cant reply to everything but my feelings were really hurt.
Hopefully i will get to meet him one day and tell him so.
bump, just thought this would hopefully put a few peoples veiws into perspective regarding Chris Powell, I think he deserves a bit more patience from some people, im not suggesting this will work out for CAFC/Powell or wont it may well end in tears, but purely based on the fact we all know (or at least should know) Chris Powell loves this club as much as most of us we should cut him some slack.
and for anyone who wants to throw out reasons why "he has to go" etc etc please bear in mind what I just said
"im not suggesting this will work out for CAFC/Powell or wont"
I feel for the man at the moment as he must be hurting but of all the threads to bump........................this "Sir" crap has got to stop, its cringe worthy especially looking at the results

It's not cringe worthy. People wanted Chrissy Powell knighted because he was the pinnacle of professional football at the time, not because he was the greatest footballer in the world, but because of what he gave back to football through his role at the PFA and wanting to play for a love of the game, not for the money involved. He was always the model of sportsmanship & the fact that we've lost a 6 games in a row we shouldn't forget about what he achieved, not as Charlton manager, but as a footballer & a man.

:-)
But a knighthood is too excessive....
Shame, because I heard you were in the front running this year for services to xenophobia

(it was the Stunted's front page, I think...)

**stalker alert**
I'm pleased to say that Chris has currently got more signatures!
If it was genuine, Millsy's email address was on it.
Can't we ask him to get the Charlton squad & all their mates to sign it?
I'm sure they'd all be up for it ........

Im talking about the man not the position.
