its 4 now, because of the above result and that was our first ever double over them.
That's why I went mental at the time when we won and we have never doubled since!
Super record, I don't think anyone can match that against their local rivals, do you?
Check the books, it's not a good read.

Sorry but we did the double over the Spanners in our first season playing them in the 1920's.

I always felt that this second double made a good bookend and made up for some of what has happened in between, unfortunately with the 4-0 at their place 3 years ago and our recent 2-0 defeat at home last season the bookend needs replacing.

I couldn't get time off of work to go to this one so i had it on my little radio on the earphones....i was in a room with half a dozen other people and it was fairly quiet until the first goal went in and i screamed at the top of my voice "Yeeeesssss get in there, have some of that you F***ing Millwall W*****s!....I don't think my boss was too pleased.

    Memorable night !

All the way there kept saying "It won't be on " and couldn't really believe when it was !

This was the "Michelin Woman" game where I managed to wear SEVEN layers of clothing ....

This was a great away evening with those friendly scamps up the road throwing snowballs with rocks in them at our heads

Couldnt believe the game was on but was well pleased in the end that it was

South Bermondsey station looked a Christmas Card scene after the game....albeit one with Snowball covered rocks and soggy fake Stone Island jumpers.

The best away game ever claim was made before Carlisle last season. Carlisle was definitely the best away of this century.

People just really hate millwall to put beating them over one of our promotions. That day hundreds of miles away was incredible.

Just watched a big chunk of this game, very interesting to watch as you can really see the quality of the likes of Rufus, Newton, Jones, Mortimer and Robinson that under-pinned our promotion in 97/98 starting to emerge.

Looking back on the game you'd be hard pressed to find a bad performer, even the much maligned Jamie Stuart played well.

Perhaps that was due to all the white stuff on the pitch?

How times change eh? Nearly 20 years later and that game would be called off for safety reasons and the white stuff would stay in the Toolbox toilets...

Well I was there, but in the home areas. A friend who had shares in the club took me. So I had to sit on my hands, probaly it saved them from frostbite. But did get to see the double over them, did not know at the time how rare that was. I think it was those games that helped persuade me to get a seasonticket for the folowing season.

I was there (for most of it). Went on the train from Ramsgate but because of the snow arrived late. Didn't really believe that we were 1-0 up. Thought it would end that way and I wouldn't have seen the goal that beat them. Luckily we got another. Took 7 hours to get home but would do it again tomorrow if you could guarantee we beat them again. Hopefully, it will happen again next season.

A marvellous night. I sat on the halfway line and remember ringing my dad near the end to share this momentous result and the sound of disgruntled and angry Millwall fans. Rarely have I felt so relaxed in the last 10 minutes of an away game.

Me and my brother did the penalty shoot out before the game and the race round the pitch at half time.i was in goal for Charlton and saved every penalty then done the race at half time and had to run past the stand with all their nutters in with them trying to smack me in the head and shouting abuse at me as I went past.cracking night
  • It was such a good feeling after the last minute defeat two years before. That had been Mrs Algarve's first experience of the derby against the real scum, that night made up for it...
