Tiny Vegas Report (now with a tiny update on 2008 trip)

I’m back, alive, and since being to the bank its worked out all tolled I only spent £154 in the City of Sin.

It was my second time out there and was absolutely top notch. Arrived on the Wednesday evening and just had a few quiet drinks in the bar and got to bed at the relatively early time of 4am.

Thursday was a bit more eventful – me and my mate wandered to the outskirts of Vegas to pick up our fight tickets for Saturday. Luckily in the hotel room we ventured to there were a couple of guys with tickets and everything seemed legit. The rest of the day consisted of drinking $1.50 pints of Coors and watching an obese Elvis bang out the tunes in Bills casino.

We then hit a club where I left after about midnight and went and stupidly (or so I thought) entered a poker tournament at the luxor for the cost of $200. Luckily (skillfully) I was still at the table come 7.30am and was in the final 2 and won! Walked away with about $700.

I was then up at the ridiculous hour of 9.15 to go and watch the weigh in with 6000 other Brits and the atmosphere was immense despite me being still drunk and in desperate need of a tactical chunder. Clubbed with Pamela Anderson in LAX at night.

Saturday was fight night and I can tell you something, if anyone ever asks me where the best atmosphere was at a sporting event it would have been in the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Luckily, the seats we got were one row off the floor right in front of the walkway where people walked in including, Angelina and Brad, Denzel Washington, Charley from BB, Sly, Bruce Willis, Becks and others…

Unfortunate about the fight but had a great time both drinking and gambling wise and even got delayed on the way home which meant an evening in Toronto in a posh hotel free of charge!

Anyway, bring on the Hawthorns on Saturday!

    sounds like it was a great experience although you did miss out on pizza and sleeping with the cat in lee though. hope it was worth it ;-)

    Glenn, were you at the weigh in then, i watched live on sky sports news, but the best bit was the bit when that poor yankie doodle chap got a right royal booing, and when the fans were singing 'knock him out knock him out knock him out, knock him out knock him out knock him out, knock him out knock him out knock him out, knock him out, knock him out' to Calzage after him n hopkins had a set too! Brilliant it was and very funny!

    Got back from my third trip in Vegas on Monday.

    Bit different from the last time - more clubbing and drinking than gmabling and fighting.

    If anyone ever goes out there get in a club called Tryst in the Wynn hotel. It is absolutely fabulous. That being said as a group of 8 we spent over £1,500 on vodka, entrance and a table. Worth it though!

    Love the place and will definately be going back next year.

    Ketters, you went last week as well - how was your trip?

    Dear WSS,

    Please could you bring your "money to burn" pals to Albufeira for a night in Floyd's Bar. Walking through the door to spend money is considered good enough to obtain a free table, we even throw in the chairs. We would charge for the vodka, but you would get about 46 large ones each for that.

    Yeah I enjoyed my few days there, very over the top but great fun nevertheless. Thought the drinks were a bit pricey some rounds were $40 for 4 bottles. The Prostitutes wanted $1,000 which was a non goer negotiated down to $300 then told em to do one. Strip Clubs were good, my mate.....oh dear better not finish that sentence. Scored an 8 Ball .... of Glass while we were out there as well ...bloody Mexicans :-)

    Right, long story short... Ketters got a brass back to his room, 'she' started getting down to business on him. Then came his turn... where he found 'she' was a bit of a surprise package... or should that be she HAD a bit of a surprise package....?
