I have a lot of sympathy for officials these days, they need to be the fittest on the park and their two or three mistakes are analysed by slow mo's and repetitive showings, but this sort of error is criminal, its just a basic call and you can understand Newcastle being upset. In these situations then the tam of officials should hold their hands up at the end of the game and apologise for their mistake.
Who gives a flying ? I don't. If every match went by without a mistake by the officials or players it would be pretty boring. The human error element is what makes sport what it is. More intervention from technology will ruin sport IMO. It's not working in cricket nor rugby and I do not want to see it in football.
