He's obviously referring to Luke Varney who cost £2 mill but was actually playing a league below even Stoke last season.
Oh, of course, Jerome Thomas cost £100k, Semedo - wasn't he a Bosman? and Fortune & Randolph youth team.
Tony Poo-lis did have 'The Beast' on the bench, though.
