[cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]So you obviously protect what you have got solidgone - shut up shop, we may not add a 3rd but have more men behind the ball to reduce the risk of conceding or is it just me
Sitting back and inviting attacks can cause its own problems. Pards can only really tell the team more of the same in the 2nd half. If the players don't do it what can he do?
I am not sure that's the right thing to do Reams. Why not continue to play as you were as it seemed to work in the first half? It of course all depends on the oppo but the Addicks defending for 45 minutes is a receipe for disaster.

Foul by Adrian Mariappa (Watford) on Lee Cook (Charlton). Indirect free kick taken right-footed by Zheng Zhi (Charlton) from left wing, passed. Cross by Lee Cook (Charlton), header by Andy Gray (Charlton) from centre of penalty area (12 yards), missed right. Goal kick taken long by Richard Lee (Watford).

No probs, I think we've all made that mistake before.
The tactic has to be to play defensively for the first five-ten minutes after the break - you know the opposition will come at you, you must expect that and if you don't concede then as time runs out they will lose confidence.
[cite]Posted By: Reamsofverse[/cite]As I said Black Forest we are just not good enough, all the top teams to play at home Pardew said so F'n what if you can't beat them then you don't deserve to be amongst them.
He walked off shaking his head, im doing the same we are up against it now and it has to be said Pardew would have failed, Andy Gray doesn't know where the goal is and there were better younger strikers out there who were available.
Reamsy, yours is just a knee jerk reaction.
Like me and others on the board just now, you weren't at the match, yet you're sitting at home making all these judgements based only on a radio commentary & 'live text' reports.
No point picking on Pardew & Gray just because you're frustrated and disappointed
i have never seen you post anything positive pal - you got your own website yet you are always on here sniping at every opporttunity. fair enough forums are here for opinions but i am bored of reading negative stuff from you
we still got a point not ideal but most would have been happy with a point before the game. try going to a game now and again before commenting on something you hear from paul merson

I did go to the game - and quite frankly I am not happy with us throwing away two points because the team falls asleep for two minutes. If we don't go up than I won't shed many tears if Pardew receives his P45.
Charlie, you were a nutter on the mailing list, and your a nutter here. No wonder you got banned from the Mailing list

I agree. Some people whinge way too much and are far too prone to knee-jerk reactions. The result was disappointing, but the race isn't over and we're still in with a shout.

Before nailed on penalty not given by ref who bottled it!
2-1 v Blackpool
Thanks for the updates and conversation guys. Time for dinner and the Bundesliga highlights.
Ipswich just a point behind us now.
Well, the situation hasn't worsened - but we have let go of a golden chance to get right back in the mix
But I think the play-offs won't be too much of a problem.

Reams until you apologies for that Frankie Valley thread, I'll treat you and your Paul Merson inspired rumbling with the contempt they deserve

In particular, in a physical league, we do not have the strikers to make our better football tell.
