Youga

I'm probably not going to be popular for saying this, but I thought he had a shocker of a second half.

The right winger was allowed time to cross again and again, and we could have been punished more than we were for it.

First bad game he's had, though, so hopefully just a blip!

he's had 2 shockers both against watford and both against tommy smith

Did he have a shocker or is Smith a decent player? probably a bit of both. I thought Smith looked their most dangerous player.

Sadly true-he supposedly had a poor game up there too.

I didn't think he had a shocker, he was up against a difficult opponent in Smith and I think he stopped him as many times as he got past. Maybe the problem was lack of protection from Ambrose?

didnt do that badly, some of his clearences straight up are a bit worrying though. loved his step overs in the corner first half

Totally agree, he seemed to have it in his head that he had to hoof the ball every time, whether under pressure or not. His overall performance was good. Still Bassey has the opportunity to take the shirt next week.

Thought he wasnt up to his usual higher standard...thought the show boating was unecessary myself. Will Pards play Halford at left back and Moo2 at Right back? Or maybe give Basey a run out....we wont be such an attacking force with Basey....depends now if we are really just going to go for it...

We are away and therefore I'd expect us to have to play a bit more defensively, that could and should Basey and so he should come in (if he's fit) and if not Powell. There is no need to have to play a right back, or even stick Semedo in there when we have at least two specialist left-backs available.

the watford fans i spoke to after said there was one class player on the pitch on sat and that was Youga. They have said that Smith has been there best player all season and that he had his worst or most in effective game thanks to Youga.

I blame the result on the door of one man, Pardew

You can't blame Pardew for the players not concentrating for a crazy 5 minutes. I'm pretty sure he would have said "Keep it tight for 15mins of the second half and we'll win". He can't come out on the pitch and do that for the players.

Pardew could have come out and been ultra defensive in the second half then we would have been moaning at the negative attitude.

he was ultra defensive, we sat on the edge of our 18 yard line, after ten mins when it looked like we had weathered a storm we could all see O'toole was dominating the midfield, why didn't he change it.

then he runs out of ideas and throws on big chris just for the sake of it.

Watford made one change on sat that changed the whole complextion of the game, we need to learn how to make those subs early enough in a game to change it, i know izale is not loved on this board but he waited till the 88th min at scunthorpe before he went for it. its ridiculous

Pardew admitted after the match that Watford had "compressed the Game". The only way to punish a team that pushes up to the half way line is to bring on some pace, but he didn't have Izale on the bench. Quite what Iwelumo bringgs to the side I'm not sure, he is being picked on his past performances when we were getting lucky wins with his goals.

I thought on saturday that he should have changed both wide men, bringing on Cook and Big Chris, Varney could then have drifted in from wide areas.

I think Youga flatters to decieve a bit with his flash barnet and boots. He hasn't got a strong left foot and switches off right when you need him switched on!

Smith done him every time and would have done all day long.
