Steve Harmison

This lad has become a bloody joke. He must be dropped and sent home.
As Sir Geoffery would say, My mother could bowl faster in her pinny!
He is supposed to be a top international sportsman but needs constant rounds of applause from his team mates just to pitch the ball on the cut strip.
He was great in 2005 and in the Windies before that but he is now washed up.
Snd him back home to help out my old mate Keegan.

  • why they persist with him baffles me- stuart broad should play has a good yorker , good speed line and length and can bloody bat as well so would make the tail a bit longer.
  • Andy Caddick would have done better!

Fcuking ridiculous - sending dollies down to a bunch of county-standard players when he should be tearing their ****ing heads off with short, sharp stuff. He's a bloody strike bowler for god's sake, and he looks like Jason bloody Gillespie out there
  • England are the CAFC of cricket! LOL!!!
  • Tell you what as well why we never picked 2 spinners for this game as well.
  • We named our team too early.

Does that make Harmison the Izale McLeod of cricket!!
  • he peaked in the ashes been sh*te since. cant tour to save his life, has to take his whole family and is still crap.
  • As they say down here in Oz, Harmison has all the tools he needs but not the 'ticker' to make them work.
  • They say some daft things in Oz dont they

Even in the Ashes he wasn't as effective as the other bowlers.

He peaked in 2004 (7-12 against the windies etc) since then, bar the odd game on pitches that suit him, he's been nothing more than average.

It must be really frustrating for he likes of Broad. Can't get a game while Harmison sprays it all over the the place!!

Not really, no. Harmison has more natural talent and ability than most other fast bowlers around the place but he does not have the guts or the desire to really produce the goods when it matters, its embarassing to watch sometimes.

Compare him to someone like Andy Bichel who is the archetypal Aussie in that he has about half the talent of Harmison but has squeezed so much more out of his talent even with far fewer international opportunities.

Time to say goodbye to Harmison, methinks.
  • But they also say things like , fair dinkum , chook , strewth and pommie . Daft

    That's fair enough!

I think the lack of heart comment is spot on.

I remeber an interview with him during the last Ashes, just after he had been replaced as Englands new ball bowler, that basicly he couldn't be trusted to get it right. When asked about it he just shrugged his shoulders and wasn't bothered.

Can you imaging the reaction from someone like Glen McGrath or Brett Lee to being demoted like that?

If Harmison was a Charlton player he'd be Jerome Thomas. Has the ability but not the desire. Get rid and give the likes of Broad or Tremlit a chance.
  • Broad, yes, he's just like his old man in terms of attitude and really looks like he's up for it but the word round the campfire is that Tremlett also has heart problems and goes to jelly when it really matters. Its a shame about Tremlett (who is also very injury prone) because against India he showed that he can be a real handful but, sadly, he only seems to bowl well when the pressure is off.
