Surprised Man U and Chelsea didnt sneak their way into it.

    Bet the FA are gutted

As an aside is it true that Cardiff can't play in Europe if they win because they're Welsh?
  • It's an absolute joke that they're at Wembley.
No reason why Cardiff v Barnsley couldn't be at Villa Park and the other one at Arsenal.

I know the FA need to claw back some money but for me it devalues it having the semi's at wembley.

The draw I wanted, either Cardiff or Barnsley to play in this year's FA Cup Final!

All the guys at work who don't believe me that the Championship is a tough league will be quiet the next time I see them. ;-)

jamal c r barns v jimmy fh sheep
i 'd like to see deano's boys win it so they take their eye off promotion and deano's a proper legend
  • So West Brom could be going to Wembley 3 times this season. How skint will their fans be!!

    ha ha ha.

How can they get into Europe win? Does the Welsh FA Cup hold any european spots? I know Swansea, Wrexham and Cardiff usually throw teams into that

Pretty sure that UEFA says you can only qualify through the Association of which you are a League member, Cardiff are a member of the FAW and only 'affiliated' with the English FA.

    I think.

    Scenario:

The final is Portsmouth v Cardiff.
Portsmouth qualify for Europe through their legue position.
    Cardiff can't enter.

Do Barnsley and West Brom play off for the UEFA place?

  • i think the faw kicked wrexham, swansea and cardiff out of their cup competition about 15 years ago.
i think a team called TNS played a qualifier against an english side (man city?) a couple of years ago.

Total Network Solutions - now knows as The New Saints dues to TNS stopping their sponsorship

at a guess i'd say portmouth would qualify as cup winners and the team 7th in the league would get a place.
we can't have teams like millwall in europe now can we?

Why was it the one time we finished 7th the European places ended at 6th? Oh yes, I know, Millwall got it...GRRRR

If you lose the final you get the place if the other team qualifies, like the scum did that year

It's quite ironic that now the final is no longer in Cardiff, Cardiff may be in the final.
