[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]I wasn't sniping at the reasons mearly pointing out that it is the long term fans who play the "I'm not going to renew" card when complaining.

Sorry, Henry, it came across like sniping to me from the way I read it. Perhaps it's how we are looking at cause and effect. If they are complaing about something else and using not renewing as a threat, that's different from what I'm saying. I just feel it is longer term fans who are more likely to lapse simply because they have had enough for a whole combination of reasons.

[cite]Posted By: suzisausage[/cite]I'm renewing. My dad actually contemplated not renewing, but he was convinced he'd still go to most home games, but attending out of choice, rather than 'having' to. I think he'll renew by the time it comes to doing it though.
My dad and his mates said exactly the same, they all sit in the West paying upwards of £450 a season for something that they have stopped enjoying.

I think for many of the Championship years before we got promoted my dad went because of me and my passion but for the past 3/4 years he's kept saying "no more". He can't help himself though.

No doubt about renewing.......will try and move into the North upper, as the Lower West is a tad quiet for me.

I'll be renewing as always, as Henry said as long as I'm healthy and have the funds i'll never question renwing. My little brother who lives in New Zealand still has his season ticket and hasn't been to a game in 3 seasons! The tickets is used nearly every game by friends etc. but he wants his same seat when he comes home in a year or two!

Its about seeing family and mates and not losing a good seat so will renew.

I still think the season tickets in the East and West are a rip off, freebie or no freebie.

When I started going, a season ticket was bought to reward loyalty by costing less than buying tickets on a match by match basis.

No doubt I will be renewing. With the exception of lack of funds I can think of no other reason not to renew. As a club we have normally been in in this divison or the one higher so we are not struggling to the lengths many think we have. Yes the last few years have'nt been great in comparsion to the previous 5/10 years before that, but ups and downs go with supporting Charlton. For me being up near the play offs all season has meant the season has been OK, and if we can somehow squeeze into the play offs, all in all it will not have been a bad season.

For what I've seen this year I was going to knock it on the head, but have been going 25 years this year and couldn't give it up totally but am not fussed if I miss a game or not now.

The beer/social before the game is the only thing that makes me still go, the football doesn't.

Am going to put the ticket in my boy's name and then upgrade when needed.

A big fat NO! Reasons are not just that we are crap, its that they have too many games on Tuesdays and I cant get to them, I think thats 7 games including cup, x that by 4 tickets which i have, mine and the kids and its 28 games, also the atmosphere is a joke, so I will cherry pick the games next season, I have lost interest in football, cancelled Sky footy etc., never thought I would say it, but there you go!!

i will. I expect most on here to renew but i think we may get a much better idea of what our hardcore support is next season. I'm tempted to say good riddance to some of our 'fans' but the reality is is that the Club need bums on seats to both cheer the team and boost our diminishing finances. Of course this is all irrelevant as we'll win at Wembley and be sitting in a 40,000 seater Valley in 5 years!

Ive not had a season ticket since 2003. I will get to as many games as possible, home and away. Ive settled recently for seats in the East stand having sat in every stand since Villa at home last season. I think its going to be a shock to the system next year seeing so many empty seats...such a shame.

I#ll renw, but I suspect this years 17,000 will drop by 2 - 4 thousand and hopefully some of them will be the booers.

I guess so but probably not for the right reasons....... ie because I can't be bovvered with getting tickets on a match by match basis and to keep out row of 7 seats in tact. Not sure about the boys though.
  • Never thought of not renewing it, my saturdays would be soooo boring!
