Can somebody explain to me how the back up goalkeeper system works ? Who is our official number two now. I thought Darren Randolph was Weaver s understudy, but as he s out on loan does that mean that we have our third choice keeper on the bench each week, or have things changed now and Rob Elliott is considered number two now. Im confused.

There's no real "official number two", is there? It's just who Pards picks each match, isn't it?

Must be some strange life being a substitute keeper, though - spending all season on the bench, not getting a sniff of action. (Bit like one of my Saturday nights.) I mean, Tony Caig? Ben Roberts? How did these guys keep sane? Or did they just have it a bit cushy?

Randolph must be the logical choice and Elliott the emotional one. Randolph has been playing every week for Bury and has has a few Carling Cup outings earlier for us.

Until we are out of it completely Pards will go with Randolph.

Randolph had a terrific game at Anfield for us last season, of course.
