Things that you could do when younger (18 ish) that you can't now.

Used to be able to jump over a badminton net.

Get into a pair of 32" jeans.

Remember everything that happened, when on a night on the beer, including how I got home.

  • Play football twice a week and not walk like a cripple the next morning.

Have a perm (belive it or not I did once)

Have a night out on the booze (and other substances) and not still feel rough the following Wednesday.

Have a night in, have 4 J Arthurs and not feel I'd overdone it!
  • Go out on a thursday crawl in at 3 and be up for work at half 7.
  • Cycle up Shooter's Hill in the most diffcult gear, cycle up Eglington Hill and Plum Lane without getting off and pushing.

These days I'd be knackered just walking up any of them which is something else i used to do without batting an eyelid. In fact I used to do a training session of 20 x 100 yards sprints up Shooter's Hill with walking back down to the start point as my recovery. I'm confident I couldn't do that now!

Your body just gives up as you get older.
