[cite]Posted By: nth london addick[/cite]wiwlb how is he ok i hope. did you get hold of them
Cheers NLA (he is a she by the way and makes it worse as no matter how old your daughters are they will always be your little girls) whe I get down 19 hours after the event they still hadn't turnt up to take her interview and they did advised my daughter not to press charges as the phone is being replaced....,I went crazy and told them that either they get it sorted or I will I was then given the third degree in which I replied what if it was their daughter..... Silence.....how strange......then they replied we will try out best.....yea right
I watched the late night news last night and the young mans dad was on. He said "i raised my children up the correct way, i didnt want them to be "street cred". Now i feel that chickens have come home to roost". Dear God how can this poor man blame himself ? If there were a few more like him maybe things would be better ! It was heart renching stuff to be honest.
Still stunning OB wont release the discription on the murderer. Point blank refusal and the media dont question it ? The scum bag was chased by passers by into a local estate. So lots of people saw him. I hope that its because they know who it is and they are at this moment preparing to smash they way into his place and drag him off. I have my doubts that they do.
Gump is the only person on here who has said "RIP".
Nobody has said (as far as i can tell) how sad it is for the family or friends that their son or friend has been killed which is what should be said in the first instance.
In my opinion, although i agree with the majority on here, we should offer condolences before attacking various government policies and people. Thats for after the tragedy.
AFKA Mate its in Lee its within walkin distance from some of us. Some went to the same school as the poor boy. Some have kids in the same area. My accountants office is in the same block as the shop where he got murdered. I dont think you should sink the thread, your comments re "political" is very valid but couldnt you just make that point ?
I also tried to whisper this but it said it didnt recognise your name ?
I cant believe how composed his mother is through all this. How she can say she feels sorry for the other kids family is amazing.
My feelings go out to her and her family, the kid was obviously a good one and South London will be worse off for having lost someone like him. There aren't that many about anymore.
So shocked as I live on Burnt Ash Hill. Jimmy went to Les' old school and I can't believe the vagueness around the reports at the moment. I can only hope they know who is responsible, seeing as 3 people work in that shop at the weekend, the launderette is always busy on a saturday that is opposite, the parade of shops are always bustling, so I can't see how more people haven't given clues as to what happened. I am sure they have but they just haven't released the information.
I hope they can pin the evidence on the guy that did it.
The interviews with the mum on the radio last night were heartbreaking that she doesn't feel any anger just sadness for the parents. They sound like a good family, 7 kids and he was an alter boy at our local church.
Went past this morning, and so many flowers outside and police presence, and bbc london and other vans outside with satellites on with cameras doing their reports for the breakfast news.
Never felt unsafe walking home from the station on my own, having lived on this road for 4 years, there is never anything to be scared of on our road, which makes it all the more shocking.
RIP Jimmy. Thoughts will all of your family and friends.
GH, i can fully understand others frustrations when i / we quite noticeably try to dicourage threads like this.
But this thread is a perfect example of the reasons we try and do that. 10% of the thread is related to the tragic event, 90% as a general rant against society / government / police etc. When that happens, it never leads to an interesting worthwhile debate.
We try to be as clear as we can. This is a football site that can stray off the subject sometimes. But when is does, we prefer it not to be focussed on hard-hitting issues. One, because its not really the place for it, and two, sadly these awful incidents are nowhere near as rare as they should be these days.
As said, i fully expect some to disagree and i apologise for that, but we made a decision that we didn't want this to become yet another site where too much time is spent by people putting the world to rights. It leads to strong opinions, arguments and division.
Awful, awful news. And it's a bit "there for the grace of God", for we've all been in situations like that before.
AFKA's right, though, it doesn't do any good venting off about this and that when a family's lost a son - we don't know anything about who did it, so we don't know the full story yet. Agreed with Suzi, too, the interviews with the parents have been heart-breaking - can't help but be impressed by their dignity in the face of terrible circumstances.

What a load of old rubbish. Please give an example.

Please don't use it for political rants.

He's under "N" - for Neeeeeeeee naaaaaaawwwwwwww!!!
;o)
RIP the young fella. What a shocking story. Agree about the political thing though - not really the place for it on this thread.
Seems like word has got round who did it, so shouldnt be long before he gets his commeuppence.
Father Michael Scanlon was speaking yesterday - who is the priest at St Peters in Woolwich (think he is a charlton fan too).
Very sad story.
What a load of old rubbish. Please give an example.
