BLR actualy it was three times theyused the hops. First batch was the good ale. second was the substitute for everyday water , the third lot was called "small beer" and was for the kids to drink instead of water. Now i think they call it larger.
[cite]Posted By: Oakster[/cite]Here in Western Canada, boozing is a big problem amongst the native (Red) Indians - their bodies cannot handle alcohol, so of course they all drink like crazy - only a fool would drive near a reservation at night with the amount of drunks on the road.
I saw that myself in BC some years ago.
We were touring around BC and Alberta and we stayed at a motel on a reservation - unknowingly.
We went to the beer parlour - which was pretty empty at the time but when it filled up my mate and I were the only non-indian guys in there! Got a bit scary when they started getting p1ssed! But fortunately got out alive!
The following morning as we left we went past the place and it was littered with sleeping drunks - on verges, benches, the side of the road - everywhere!
The other thing was that the railroad ran through the town and in the middle of the night a long, long train went through ringing it's bell setting off all the dogs barking. And believe me - virtually every residence had a dog in its yard - thousands of them! What a racket!
Can't for the life of me think of the name of the place - but it will come to me!
I can remember my brother being offered out after winning money in a pool game - great big guy called Little Bear! I remember that was in a place called Cache Creek but different place from the other story. He declined but we then got ambushed by what seemed like the whole tribe when we left a few hours later!
