All reasonable points but he had a five year deal with us at 20,000 per week - he wasn't exactly headed for the poor house was he?
Second, he left for a club where he had no realistic chance of first XI football given the players they already had and must have known it was a huge gamble.
So, he took the risk and his career has sunk to the depths of Upton Park who are not exactly one of the games big boys, are they? He will now NEVER make it to the big four or the England squad, what a waste of a career.
He would have been ideal for an Aston Villa or Spurs to pick up and make a regular and THEN make a push for a move to one of the big boys.
Sadly, his career path will follow that of Wright-Phillips and Sidwell...down, down deeper and down.
i just wonder if we would have done diffrent and i cant honestly say i wouldnt as i have never even smelt the sort of money on offer yet alone have it in my bin
What we do in life may or may not shape who we are as a person, but how we go about it, most certainly does.
There are very few, if any, people or sportsmen, who would have turned down the offers that were heading parkers way and I would say that perhaps there are less who would have actually begrudged the bloke his chance.
However the petulant and arrogant way in which he demanded the move regardless of the cost to the club that nurtured his talent and set him on the road to his new found wealth will forever shape the image I have of him regardless of what he does in the future, or who with.
I am not sure there are enough building materials in the world to cope with the amount needed to repair this particular bridge.

He fell in love with Bobby Davro's house, but didn't have the funds to buy it.
Chelsea gave him that opportunity to live his dream :-)
