Did anyone ever read 'left foot forward' by Garry Nelson?

It gave an interesting insight into the life of a not so 'big time' footballer. I always liked him anyway.

Most Charlton players in the first two decades of me supporting them fall into this category.

Yeah, good book, interesting to see who came across well and who (David Whyte, Curbs!) didn't - via Nelson of course.

Up until a year or two ago, near enough every one one of them.

Could of counted the amount of players i didn't like over a fifteen year period on one hand.

Steve Brown - limited ability, but he made the best of what he had, and what he lacked in skill he more than made up for in desire, guts and commitment to the team
Leroy Ambrose - was pants, but really, really grafted and had a wicked 'fro
Les Berry - very average player, but never shirked a tackle or responsibility

but Robbo was great - really unfair to include him here

Kish (although I still think he was very underrated), Svensson and Barness for me.

Matt Tees. (Me as a kid: "Dad, why do they call him Matt?" ...."Because he's always on the floor, son").

    LOL, GH !
  • Matt Tees - how did I forget him, sorry Matt.

Excluding a goal where the oppositon keeper drilled the ball against Matt's legs, did he ever score with his legs/feet?
