Birmingham and Reading will be the top two, playoffs Derby, Wolves, swansea and..... Not us. will go either way next term, will fight and battle our way into promotion or if we carry on where we left off last term, i fear the worst... so either 5 or 19th

Well lets look at things :

*at the moment we have basically the same squad,
    * the division will be stronger.
*Ispwich and QPR have lots of dosh.
*We still have the same fether duster midfield
*we have TwatyBent and Fayadaway back
    *We are pot less
*We may be able to get that midfield general. If we can sell someone.
*we know alot more about the division
*We wont be the "big scalp" next season.

    more doom than positive.

So - a lot may or may not happen between now and the start of the season but if you had a gun against your head right now and had to say where we will finish this coming season what would you say?

    Low Ears - 9th

If Parky goes mid season we might climb to 7th.
If he stays, we will thrap about in the lower half, 12th on a good final day.

  • The preparation for this season is just not right, with all the ongoing speculation. It must unsettle the players and the management team, and means that we can't bring in any decent new players. I can only see us struggling to get going in what is a pretty grim atmosphere around the club at the moment. We could well finish nearer the bottom than the top of the table unless this takeover situation is resolved, and quickly.

    Charlton finished 2nd place.

Deon Burton netting 24 league and cup goals, his highest ever goal tally. Other noticeable contributors were Izale McLeod scoring 17 and Chris Dickson scoring 12. Jonjo Shelvey unfortuneatly left in January to West Ham United for a fee rising to £9,000,000. A deserved fee after scoring 9 goals in just the opening 5 months of the season. Another noticeable change in January was on the backroom staff, as former Charlton favourite Chris Powell returned to the club as first team coach after Mark Kinsella was offered the Colchester job.
Charlton manager, Phil Parkinson, went on an 16 game unbeaten run which saw 9 wins on the bounce, the best record in the Football League of the 09/10 season. Charlton went from a steady 8th to top of the league with 6 games remaining.
The last 4 games of the season Charlton only picked up 4 out of a possible 12 points, losing the championship just to Leeds. Lloyd Sam was voted player of the year making 18 assists and 9 goals in the season.
Charlton also made it to the Carling Cup semi-finals, loosing to Manchester City 2-1 after extra time.
Phil Parkinson was offered a new 4 year contract in June 2010 after stearing Charlton back to the championship and hopefully into the Premier League next season.

    You never know. . .

Mid table (play offs at best) unless we get some more cash (via the takeover - not guaranteed)!

Got a funny feeling Southampton will be above us (even with -10 pts). So will MK Dons and Leeds.

Hope I'm wrong but been a supporter too long.
