    That Scott Parker was rubbish.

Well, I think we have to put it into context that for most of those years we were a Premiership club - and many of those players at least appeared in the Prem for Charlton. Parker & Fortune went on to establish themselves in our Prem teams - and Parker went on to gain full England caps and commanded a £10 million transfer fee.

Randolph has wom many Ireland U-21 caps - and apart from those still at Charlton, every one of them has gone on to play League football for other clubs.

Conclusion: they were generally good enough for Pro football but, apart from the obvious exceptions, not good enough for the Prem. Or just that they never got a decent chance to grow as players?

Maybe if we had been a 2nd flight club, they would have all established themselves first at Charlton to one degree or another? Sometimes, most times, you just have to play them.

He was a regular at Rushden & Diamonds for a couple of years while they were still a League club.
