Surely the Blackpool lights will still be up?

You can't moan at Boxing Day can you?

Nothing worse than having a newley promoted team first up at home. Remember Scunny?

As always, there are some positives and negatives in the fixture list.

The Good - Home on the first day, Boxing Day and Last day.
The Not so Good - More midweek aways than homes (although 3 of them are 'close to home', so even that isn't too bad). Blackpool away in the middle of winter. A pretty tough start to the season.

I'm looking forward to the new season. The build up has begun.

[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite] Ipswich is a shame as well as we had such a perfect pub venue for the coach.

    ketters & northstand,
what's the initial feeling about which game to pick for another lifers coach?

we may not get the numbers for a mid-week game.
the ones that stand out for me are
    forest - sat 20 sept
norwich - sat 20 dec (a bit close to xmas, but at least we can maybe use the same pub)
soton - sat 4 apr (though i can understand some may not want to bring their kids)
derby - sat 25 apr (for our promotion party)

My thoughts exactly. A friend of mine who supports Leicester has just been on to tell me that he's been through their fixture list and can't find anything to get excited about at all and that relegation has really been rammed home. Hartlepool away over Christmas anyone?

Here is one happy punter - I am planning to be back in the UK at the end of September - Wednesday (H), Palace (A) & Ipswich (H) coincide with my trip :-)

[cite]Posted By: Rothko[/cite]I quite like the look of the local midweek games, going to be cracking atmospheres at them
Exactly, Palace away is going to be fantastic!

I think the fixture list is a lot better than last season and not just because Hull away has been replaced with Forest away!
