Sits in front of me, still as vocal and as passionate as ever, especially where refs are concerned - I remember him trying to climb the fence at Middlesbrough in the mid 80s to give the official a piece of his mind after Mark Aizlewood had been sent off.

I remember him away at Boro 84 when he spent 90 minutes going balastic at the ref, players, oppo supporters, charlton supporters. The police did not know what to do with him - they could see he was harmless, but they had to warn him time and time again.
As an aside, I always remember the police escort for this one waiting for us at Boro station: about 50 police on foot, 10 dog handlers, 10 mounted police and about 20 of us - and we needed all of them.
Remember him really well from the 70's.....always encouraging everyone to go and take the away end....got his glasses broken at one game...cant remember where though
My Dad spotted this guy in Downham one day and told me that when he started to go to Charlton games when he was younger there was always this one nutter who'd shout a tirade of abuse at the opposition/referee/players basically whoever he felt deserved it at the time. My Dad said this guy was particularly over the top but funny all the same.
Anyway a few years later I moved house to Balder Rise in Grove Park and low and behold this same guy lived over the road from me. Obviously noticed my Charlton tops etc. and started saying hello to me talking all things Charlton etc. He found out my name some how which I found odd as I certainly never told him! (probably heard someone shout it whilst kicking a ball about).
He now always stops me to say hello in the ground etc. I've always found it/him slightly wierd and not been sure what to make of it all but to see his picture on here and so many people seem to know who he is I find really strange!

Wrexham away in the league back in January 1980 - two weeks after the 6 0 Cup thrashing at the Racecourse Ground. Typical charlton, we went 2-0 up after about 20 minutes (with Johnny Oostergaard scoring the 'Welsh goal of the season') and Wrexham got a penalty about 5 minutes from time to win 3-2. It was never a penalty.
Dennis went ballistic at the ref, the Wrexham players and just about anybody in ear shot. He half climbed the metal fencing shouting his head off through it until Vinter(?) scored, got down off the fencing and his massive Joe 90 specs where still stuck in the fence.

As I said to DA earlier.....the bloke I remember most was a guy I think his name was Barry (Mottingham).....dark curly hair, sometimes had a beard, maybe a lazy eye, would have been around 72 ish season and if he said dont run (I was only 12/13) you didnt run...lol Im guessing, and would say he would be in his late 50's now. Just bought back some whacky memories was all.
Big D was quite a bit later on if my memory serves (which is getting a bit unreliable)

The ground I think is Old Trafford in 1986 when we won 1-0.
It is true Dennis is still going strong although a lot less vocal these days. He retired a few years ago on ill health grounds .
My favourite memory of him is running down the East Terrace offering his glasses to the Referee.

Defo. Used to see him at away games, glad he still goes. I remember him getting very irate at Plough Lane once, just after we left the Valley.
