  • In no particu;ar order

1/ Night at the Opera- Queen
2/ What the story Morning Glory- Oasis
3/ Automatic for the people- REM
    4/ Thriller - Michael Jackson
5/ Listen without prejudice- George Michael ( the things it's not possible to do without sounding a bit gay thread might apply here)
  • Jailbreak - Thin Lizzy
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
    Joshua Tree - U2
    Tubular Bells - Mike Oldfield
    Montrose - Montrose

Yet another lifer who grew up in the 70's
  • I once stayed at U2's Clarence Hotel in a room below the penthouse. Got totally trolleyed in Dublin and all I could find worth playing on the room's cd was Beach Boys 'Pet Sounds'.

Unfortunately I fell asleep as I played it at No11 volume and on repeat. . . .

By 3am, the neighbours in the upstairs penthouse weren't too amused and called security, who nearly broke into my room by smashing the door in.

Found out next morning (behind sunglasses), that my neighbours who complained were the very delightful 'Girls Aloud' . . .

Everytime I hear 'Sloop John B' I think of them......
  • maybe

    The Smiths - The Smiths
    The Clash - The Clash
Psychocandy - Jesus & Mary Chain
Power, Corruption & Lies - New Order
Head On The Door - The Cure

    but what about ....

    Stone Roses - Stone Roses
Holy Bible - Manic Street Preachers
    Hot Fuss - The Killers
    Nevermind - Nirvana
Automatic For The People - REM
  • More excellent candidates from the knowledgeable chaps/chappesses from Charlton Life:

    Ozric Tentacles - Erpland
    Beatles - Sgt Pepper
    Parallel Lines - Blondie
    Greatest Hits - Doors

    Good work...
  • Faith No More - 'Angel Dust'
    Duran Duran - 'Duran Duran'(Debut)
Depeche Mode - 'Songs of Faith & Devotion
At The Drive In - 'Relationship of command'
    David Bowie - 'Hunky Dory'

    or

    Radiohead - 'Ok Computer'
    Suede - 'Dog Man Star'
    Stone Temple Pilots - 'Purple'
Blur - 'Modern Life Is Rubbish' or Prefab Sprout - 'From Langley Park to Memphis'
    Dredg - 'El Cielo'

    So many to choose from!
  • Modern life is rubbish = ace
    Angel Dust = class
  • Seamonsters - The Wedding Present
    Doolittle - Pixies
    Darklands - JAMC
    Smiths - Smiths
    Shame About Ray - Lemonheads
  • [cite]Posted By: bingaddick[/cite]Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
    Beatles - Sgt Pepper
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Genesis - Selling England By The Pound
    Original Soundtrack - 10cc

I'm sure there are others if I think hard enough

The Original Soundtrack contains the classic One night in Paris a great song as well as I'm Not in Love which was a good slow one at the end of the evening back in the day...
  • Duke - Genesis (watching 'When in Rome' at the mo, bringing back great memories of Twickers.........never thought I'd see them again.......I love them!!!!)

Upstairs at Erics - Yazoo (saw them at the Apollo recently, OMG!!! that gal can sing!)

The Hurting - Tears for Fears (it was just so different at the time)

Thriller - Michael Jackson (I nearly put Off the Wall, it was very close)

No need to argue - The Cranberries (again, when it came out it just hit the spot)

I've judged it by albums I played over & over so much I can still sing the songs now they're on my ipod & expect to hear the jumps when I played them to death on vinyl ;-)

It was hard to just pick 5 though!
