Has anyone on here been?

Looking at going there for a few days later in the summer with the family but not sure where is the best place to stay.

Needs to be suitable for little kids, so fancy spa hotels probably arent going to be any use even if I would like to.

Never been to this part of the country, welcome any suggestions, ta.

Camped in brockenhurst with the missus when we were first going out and I had much hilarity at her expense, when her breakfast attracted alot of interest from the local wild horses. I have not seen her run so fast since, I still do not know why she did not just drop the food.

She ended up sitting in my car surrounded by three drooling horses, swearing at me to help her while I tried to get her camera to work.

Try Majorca for these. No chance in the new forest.

I used to use them all the time very kid friendly and I think they all have a pool now. My fav was the Beaulieu Hotel as it was in the middle of no where!

Cracking choice of location Southend - it's a lovely part of the world.

We stayed in this place (see link) last year and it was fantastic. Perfect location, ponies roaming free and coming right up to the gate, nice scenery and walks, lovely pubs nearby - it was brilliant.

I'd say anywhere around the Burley area and you can't go too far wrong.

Sandy Balls on the edge of the New Forest... cracking place and is ideal for the kids with swimming pool, play area etc. There's a choice too of camping, fixed caravans or lodges...

Went camping in Brockenhurst with a load of mates and had a superb time.Nice place.
  • Living where I do I go to the forest quite a bit but have never stayed there. There are loads of campsites all around the forest. I have been to Sandy Balls and they've got a campsite and log cabins. Loads to do for the kids including an indoor swimming pool. Especially useful when the weathers like it is now.

I think the New Forest like New Labour will rise to the Premiership in a year or so and then sink again without trace
