Music Downloads (sorry Stone!)

I'm DJ'ing for a lady who has sent me a pretty comprehensive playlist. Some of the stuff is a bit obscure. I usually use Bearshare, but I'm struggling to find some of the tracks. Can anyone recommend another good (safe) download site (preferably free or cheap!)?

I can also heartily recommend Soulseek - easy and never had any issues, good for obscure stuff, you might have to be patient (use wishlist feature etc.).

I tried a bit torrent site once and my PC was nearly destroyed with viruses and register updates etc - despite all my av and antispyware software being bang up to date. If you don't already use them I'd suggest keeping it that way!

Soulseek for me. A bit slow sometimes and you can't always be sure what version you are getting until you download it but good value : - )

Just remember when using soulseek, always have something shared before you start downloading from people...or they'll probably ban you for being a leech....

follow the 'soulseek for dummies' link when you've downloaded it to set up properly http://faq.slsknet.org/index.php?action=artikel&cat=266083&id=40&artlang=enink and you'll need to add your itunes folder or whatever you use for your music on the file sharing tab so people can browseyour files, otherwise some get the hump and ban you!

  • If you're after torrent sites I can sort invites though preferably if this was moved to members only!

Why don't you post the songs here and see if anyone already has them in digital format?

Go to Google and type this in. Fill in the song name and it will hopefully find some results for you - this is truly excellent and has helped me out of a hole once or twice

intitle:index.of "song name" +"album name" -htm -html -php -asp "Last Modified"
