Gyppos, Travellers, Pikeys Gotta admire their Front

edited July 2008 in Not Sports Related
A group of these questionable characters has moved themselves down to the Fruit Farm at Faversham where I work over thye weekend. Our site Manager has been working overtime to get the correct paperwork to have them evicted last few days. Well with news from the Police reaching us that there were several more (Up to 25 more caravans massing nearby) they employed a security card & bought a huge chain & lock to secure the gates at night.

This morning the cheeky buggers had cut the chain & put one of their own on & demanded £1,000 to unlock it. Needless to say the owner was not having any of it called the police & bolt cutted their chain. It's now getting interesting as these Gyppos are roaming the site starting water fights in the courtyard nicking fruit from the businesses below & generally being a pain until either they are evicted by police or worse these 25 Caravans make it in one night before this eviction takes place.

Cannot say I am too happy of having my car parked 100 yards away from them whilst I am at work all day, but it seems the law protects them from being forcibly removed if anyone was brave enough to try that. As the guy said in the film Snatch 'I F****in hate Pikey's'....

Whilst I wouldn't condone wilful victimisation of any strata of society it is a sad indictment of socialist Britain that decent, hardworking people have no right to protect their property.

What happened to "An Englishman's home is his Castle?"

Oh, I know. England no longer exists as it has been chopped into a number of regions in a larger country called EU.

    Sad, sad, sad.
  • Shoot the .........
  • They are the saltt of the earth.....unfortunatlly the wrong *ucking sort.*........camp near me they ahve thier own rules and authorites turn a big blind eye alas
  • Pain in the arse Kets.

Another lot have moved onto that grass verge on Staplehurst Road again... the last lot only moved on about a week ago!!!! The old bill were there when the gypo's were setting up camp, but did feck all about it...
  • Ketman the only way is tell your boss to inform the VAT office and the IRS that because of te tinkers he is closing the business temporary. He will no longers be collecting taxes for the VAT man or will his staff be paying tax, this will be a net loss of tax to HM Gov of XXXXX. This rabble only care about tax money anyway so they might get the OB moving orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr phone crime stoppers tell them you saw a shooter in one of the Pikeys caravans.
  • I live in west kingsdown and we have been fighting to evict a family of travellers from some green belt land which they have turned into a breakers/ junk yard. It has been going on for nearly 4 years now since they moved in and laid hardcore ,installed a cess pit and drive dumper lorries, quad bikes etc up and down our road .
A public enquiry ruled in our favour in August 2006 and they were given a ' YEAR' (yes, a whole year ) to move out and restore the land to its previous state . Needless to say they did nothing and they were eventually prosecuted in the magistrates court , where they were found not guilty because they argued, 'that they couldnt move out because they were landlocked and would be committing trespass if they did' . Unbelieveably the judge threw out the case .

An appeal ensued , which was successful and they were prosecuted again last month . This time ,they were found guilty of not complying to a court order and they were fined ...................£150.

You couldn't make this up , but its true .
The residents have paid thousands of pounds to pursue this action and they are still there ........nearly 4 years later.

Try to put up a garden shed without council permission and sevenoaks council would be on you like a ton of bricks and you would end up in jail .
  • We've got one of those camps near us where they've built those prefab houses (not too near I'm pleased to say). Anyway they apparently applied for permission to extend the area so they could build more of their houses. Council refused and they did it anyway, and then put a big sign up at the end saying "Private Property Keep Out"!
  • We had a small band of them turn up in Swanley the weekend before last. On the same day dozens of cars get done in the ASDA, Swanley School and Civic Centre car parks for the Sat Navs and Mobile Phones. Coincidence that. When they're eventually moved on they pitch up on a piece of land next to the White Oak Sports Centre and it's suggested to the manager, by them, that they have free use of the facilities in order to reduce the risk of vandalism.
  • problem with these ***** is for 100 of them there's another 1000 of the f****** backing them up if need be.

You front them front them all.

  • "Gypsies are scum" shock.

Anyone who has had the "pleasure" of meeting these lovely one man/woman crime waves will not be surprised by any of this...

With what they get away with, they must be Freemasons or something.

You don't need to be a mason when you have the Human Rights Act 1998 and legal aid!!

There was an act of Parliament called the Caravan Sites Act 1968 and it provided that each council must provide a "permenant" site for (I think) 16 caravans. Once they did this, then anybody squatting on land without permission could be evicted immediately (a day or so).

A few years ago (under the Tories), they repealled it/altered the law bringing temporary Gypsie sites under normal planning laws. This has resulted in the feet dragging delays you now see.

I lived in a village which for years had gypsies camped with in it. Residents who lived close were subject to some nuisance from the mess created and the use of their garden hoses etc. I was attacked by some of the kids including being threatened with a knife.

It was an extremely challenging time and tempers amongst local residents reached boiling point with people threatening to form vigilante style groups to "evict" them. In the end, I'd like to think that common sense prevailed. There was a local Tory councillor - indeed it was a Tory Council. The residents let it be known that they would enmasse, either abstain or vote for the other guy if a solution wasn't found. All of a sudden with a week or so to go before an election, the council suddenly found which them a piece of derelict land about a mile away from where anybody lived and although there was a huge mess created, it was largely "out of sight, out of mind". Problem solved. It's the old adage "if you've got them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow".
  • The great civilised ones , the ones who build and live in houses have made one great huge mess of this planet, we are in no position to generalise. I wish this thread to sink swiftly.

Despite the aggro that I personally had with some of the Gipsy youth I don't believe that they should be made to be outcast and I hate generalisations as I was talking from specific experience, but it's the trap into which you appear to have fallen. During the time we had Gipsies living in our community, the council decided that the kids should receive an education as is their right. Our local primary school was asked to take them. You will not believe the animosity this caused with the most outrageous claims being made that somehow these kids were the embodiment of evil and disease. Parents kept their kids off. I am proud that my parents sent my sister and I to school as normal.

Thing is Bing, although those parents were quite clearly exhibiting the same xenophobia that manifests every time a new community of people arrives in the UK (Jews, Carribeans, Africans, Greeks, Turks, Poles etc etc) with pikeys they have a point. I'm sorry, but deciding that you don't want to pay tax, moving onto land and ruining it, thieving, threatening people and getting up to a whole host of other shite does NOT make you a 'race' of people. No Irishman (and lets not **** about here - we're talking about tinkers, not romany gypsies) wants to be associated with pikeys - there are laws around Ireland about dealing with them when they pitch up, which is why so many decide to come to the UK (God - even typing this I realise how xenophobic I sound!). I have Irish relatives, Irish friends and Irish colleagues who absolutely detest tinkers - because they had to grow up with some of them and, as a result, are fully aware of their (ahem) 'ways'. They are dirty, thieving scumbags who have somehow managed to con dopey middle-class pillocks into thinking they constitute a 'race' of people and are therefore obviously discriminated against regularly and need to have specific rights. I'm sorry, but if you decide you aren't paying tax, and don't want to abide by the laws of the country you reside in, then you are just a criminal - period. I don't pay my council tax - I go to jail. The same should apply to them.
  • i was unlucky enough to go a school where there where many gypsyes. They terrorised the rest of the kids. I skipped school rather than get a kicking EVERY DaY and losing my dinner money. The teachers didnt give a sh*t. Untill i smashed one back and they left me alone i was 12. At about 14 they seem to have just not been there. Then i remember one of em geting a thumpin, the school went mad the kids that did it expelled ,strange how the teachers where so concerned then ?
My grand parents lived next to one of the real old famous pikeys Levy Lee . They were OK and he even took my grand dad to hospital in his car when he was ill and the ambalance was taking to long.
If you read any of their history you will know they look on anyone not a pikey as a "mark" and its ok to knock us.
One thing they aint is stupid. They have understood civil law for many many years. They understand planning law and the micro loop holes in all of em. I hate the Human Rights act as we operate it in the UK , but it has little to do with what pikeys may or may not do. Its just another tool for them to use.
As for the old bo**ox of they have nowhere to go . That truely is a joke. So why would they want an actual set place, with a postal address. Where the tax man or the benefit fruad office or thelocal government tax office can come knocking. Much easier not to "exist" untill you have to.
  • I was personally terrorised by the children of gangland families who moved out of the smoke to the greener pastures on the edge of town. These weren't pikeys but they were pretty unpleasant. There's good and bad in every community. The gypsy kids who came to our school were mostly girls and under 10 years old. They were just kids.
  • Jeez - I don't want to sound smug but I'd forgotten all about pikeys - we don't get 'em over here. Hordes of mosquitos, homicidal bears, drunk natives,non-ironic mullet wearers and Gridiron fans - yes. Gippos - no.
  • know loads of settled travellers, great people and wouldn't have a word said against the ones i know.

can't comment of those of the roaming variety as i've never come across any.

  • Big difference, like Medders and Ketman I have the pleasure of living in a hotbed of pikey activity and none of them are pleasant people. I think you have to see them in action to really appreciate why some feel this way.

Those fun loving 'travellers' really enhance the local when they pitch up down the road, or if you're really lucky the football pitches behind you're mum and dads place.

Then once they leave as some others who have had the pleasure of them as neighbours describe the field which once only had a mild smattering of dog dirt is smothered with knackered generators, human shit, bits of caravan and car, dead animals, and general rubbish.

I know a few settled/ex/former gypsies and fair one I see where you're coming from but pikeys are something else.
  • Does anyone want to buy this 'Pikey' House? Just take a look at the pictures.

    What's with the decor?!
  • The underground cave with it's natural spring is the only one of its kind in the area, evidently.
  • I have an update to the Brogdale story this morning, they are all gone. The Project Manager confronted them last night & told them to F*** off as they were on private ground. They gave him the expected response so as we have lots of building work going on here courtesy of Hill Reed he drove a JCB round & threatened to tow every caravan off the site. They gave him a load of verbals, but eventually all left.....brave man !
  • Good man! Send him round my way Kets!
  • I like them
  • on my way to work this morning and 5 or 6 do-as-you-likey vans parked up on the grass between shooters hill police station and the woods.
on way home from work rubbish already started to spread about.
  • Did you see the news yesterday?

They played a tape of one of the accused saying that they were being accused of robbery because of 'racism' against gypsies, and that they were all innocent guv'nor etc.

They then played the tape of them talking about going on the rob. On a TV documentary a year earlier.

You're right. Some of them are very savvy. But obviously not all of them!
  • During my days working for the mighty CPFC, we had a bunch of these caravan dwellers set up residence in the car park behind the main stand (this is not a reference to your days at Selhurst), they were adamant they were staying until it was pointed out that we had a home game that weekend against Millwall...........just over an hour later they departed.
