[cite]Posted By: mart77[/cite]My brother just rang me and he's fuming because Oasis never played last night and they're not playing today either it's just been announced. Not a great atmosphere with lots of drunk angry people.
Suzi, sorry to hear that you had such a bad time, when we were there we walked to Sainsburys in Chelmsfield stocked up on creates of beer and trolleyed them in to the tent. we didn't bother with the queues for the bars, they looked like a nightmare 6 years ago. I doubt I will ever go to another V.
However, I will not hear a bad word about Morelys, especially the one in Lewisham, that had served me well after many a session in the Fox and Ferkin!
Tell you what, that was the biggest mess I have seen in a very long time of an event like that.
Good points
*Four smoking hot girls camping with me and my 3 mates
*The amount of fit women there full stop
*The weather
Bad Points
*The f*cking queues for EVERYTHING
*The amount of Danny Dyer wannabes there on the loose from mummy & daddy for the first time
*The security guards, one of whom I had a punch up with at the campsite (he offered to knock me out behind the bogs, the rest I will tell at the next home game to whoever cares to listen)
*The bands (it was like popworld on the beach)
*The price of everything
*The moving of the goal posts regarding portable bbq's (it says clearly on a list of what's permitted and what's not they ARE allowed) - this relates to my story about fighting with 'security'.
*Beer tokens, I have never been to any event where they use this retarded system and it has worked well
*The cost of everything
My point regarding the security at this place is a serious one, if I was a girl at this festival and had ended up separated from my mates I would of been petrified at the security on hand to help out. I know we all love stewards and people of that ilk but this crowd were the most useless, clueless rent a bunch of divs with keeper rings I have ever encountered. I will not be the slightest bit suprised if there is a multitude of sexual assault claims coming from this weekend against that lot.
Cut a long story short I won the fight with the ape but that is not always a good thing as the cretin was well aware of where I was staying and where the girls we were with were staying and as they were pretty much doing what him and his pals liked as regards rifling through peoples tents when they thought the coast was clear I spent the rest of yesterday (when I wasn't queueing for something) worrying about their stuff being gone through. I didn't care about mine as I packed up yesterday morning and threw most my stuff in my motor and went home last night. Not really the point is it?
Another point on security is are they not meant to check the pissing wristbands before randomers at the place for the day rock up and stroll into a campsite without the poxy bands and again make girls feel pretty unsafe.
I'm not one to moan this much about anything but I am still raging about this one.

Agree with everything you said there, mate. I went from enjoying a chilled afternoon in the sun yesterday and being in a great mood (despite oasis' shit-out) to having one of the worst festival experiences of my life.
I didn't think it was possible to get that many wankers together in a field in one day, especially when their teams were playing each other only hours earlier.
Yep, all the essex yid and wet ham hard-core were there.
I'm sure I shouldn't spend the entire day stopping myself or being stopped from whacking people at a bloody festival. And not one of those would-be punchbags would have deserved anything less.
My weekend was only saved by being taken to watch the saturdays ;-)
I must say I had a cracking time. Think it was due to being with mates rather than anything else. Prices for food and drink are ludicrous.
Fatboy Slim on saturday was brilliant as were The Streets. Other than that I can't remember anything other than waking up with chilli chicken on my chest in the middle of a Keane set.
Organisation is a joke though. It took us 6 hours to get out of the park today.
If there is a more poorly organised festival in the world then I would be staggered.
Ridiculous queueing for everything, not enough bars, not enough toilets.
Pissed off by the stewards making us walk outside the site and back in again when we were trying to quickly get from The Streets to The Enemy meaning we missed the first couple of songs for no reason at all.
Gutted about Oasis but typical that last year the headliners were Prodigy, Ian Brown and Muse and I would happily have seen all 3 and this year we were left with Keane who are shit, Gay Patrol and MGMT, ended up in the Strongbow room with a bit of drum and bass.
Its an easy festival for me, but I very much doubt I will go back.
Only highlight for me was saying hello to Jonjo Shelvey
Ive never been to a weekend camping fest. only one dayers. What happens to the people who just payed for a day ticket for the saturday when the day is over? whats stopping them just staying for the whole weekend once they are in?

Different bits mate, you have to tramp from your campsite to the entrance and stand in midday sun watching people pass out while approx 5,000 people try and get in to the arena through about 4 gated alleys. No semblence of order.
Saw The Millhouses in they're orange hats. Dave was spitting blood when he heard Oasis has blown it out, poor sod only wanted to see them!
Don't waste your money on this one mate trying to find out what they are like. Go to the Hop Farm next year instead, clean (for a festival) thunderboxes, organised properly, decent bands, fairly local and all round a better event! And cheaper for the weekend
Beer tokens at a festival? This must have created chaos. Only time i ever went anywhere with beer tokens was Bloc Party at the Ally Pally. We said a loud drunken F##k you to queing twice, and stole our way to p#ssed oblivion. Hit and miss as you had to grab a cup and run, you never knew what you would get sometimes you scored sometimes you got Strongbow. But you did get drunk and never had to queue.

Orange hats?!?! whats that about then? I spoke to dave today he was still boiling over. he went to see oasis and ended up watching james morrison and leaving early.
From hearing them from my back garden (which is in Lordswood) play at Rochester castle (about 4/5 miles away I can say they are too loud and they sound like musical AIDS to me
[cite]Posted By: MrOneLung[/cite]But what about Gemma Arterton ?
She's not fingering my nan!!!!
Try getting any sort of mobile recpetion in that place, it's like the twilight zone, last night I got about 20 text messages one after the other asking where I was, giving me the test score etc I had no chance of getting in with her & the other lot!!

Now as a frontman and a singer of songs I like very much he is one of my favourites
~However, as a human being I would like to knock his teeth down his throat.

Don't blame them mate, I made a mistake going. I didn't have a serious look at who was playing and paid the price.
James f*cking Morrison

The one far right is Premiership standard.
The poor lass in pink has just been signed by Southampton :o(
A disturbing thing about that one in the blue with short hair is she was in baby s club 7
She is without doubt my favourite though, the tent they played in was steaming with testosterone!!
Get them here

It would probably make a good "specialist interest" video though!
