My son's football club are having a Autumn Ball and I have got to get a dinner/evening suit.I don't know whether to hire one or buy one on e-bay,anyone got any recommendations re hire or idea of price?
by the time you've paid out for hire, if you're only ever gonna wear them once or twice, you might as well buy a cheap dinner suit. Matalan we're selling them last week (don't ask...)
cant remember to be honest thought is was about £50 to hire but you get all the gear. suit , bow tie, waist coat. You can even hire a kilt with all the gear if you wanted .Royal Stewart (not Rod) tartan. Had to escort an Indian lady to a posh do it was a National Costum Ball , she looked the b*llox in her sari a went as James Bond --- white tux etc . That was hired from Moss Bros.
bow tie aint a problem as we make them as a business i will probably print some up with the club bage on them agree with barts not a good investment to buy at the moment on e-bay there is one for £25
sorry,i was just thinking that if there was an autumn ball this year,i figured they would do another next year and maybe the year after not including other functions in between. i guess we aren't having the charlonlife black tie christmas do now then.
Moss Bros tends to have some deals on buying everything too...I got the suit, shirt and tie for about £100 from there last year....wear it once, maybe twice a year at most, but managed to put it through on my expenses ;-)
I've got a cheap tux from last years xmas do, about £120 all in. shirt/tie/patent shoes etc, from my mothers catalogue, got to get a white one this year as its a James Bond theme.
it was last friday night, and i found out on thursday night everyone was going in black tie (after they said they were wearing ordianary suits) except me.Luckily the missus works for george dept i asda and picked the full works up for £40 minus her 10% discount.I looked a dick but at least it was cheap.
