I have been to one and only one "Live show"/gig/concert in my entire life, £50 to Demelza house if any one on here can guess who I saw and I'll double it if you tell me where it was, and it wasn't the WHO at The Valley.

[cite]Posted By: Red_Pete[/cite]Lindisfarne at the Lewisham Odeon in about 1972. Supported by an up & coming young band called Genesis. Peter Gabriel was just magnificent that night. This was my first ever gig.
Mine too!
[cite]Posted By: Red_Pete[/cite]Genesis at Knebworth in 1978. Just totally awesome.
I got a ticket to the 'secret' warm up gig for this. It was at the Marquee and they were billed as 'The Garden Wall'. I was standing at the back next to Fish from Marillion who was singing along word for word.
[cite]Posted By: Goonerhater[/cite]Dumpys Rusty Nuts in the White Swan greenwich 1984 ish
nope nothing 2 do with a guy with a urin complaint either
The White Swan! What a venue, some really great bands on from time to time. Starting point for loads of local bands like Moon Tier, White Noize and Nuthin' Fancy (later to become Thunder).
The Curve gig was where you were wearing your limited edition Charlton shirt, the red black and white one done in an arty weird way, and singing 'Leaburn' instead of the songs.
Stevie Wonder Cannes 1984 - just happened to be drinking / touring cote d'azur at the time Hawkwind - Lewisham Odeon - anyone remember the closing down season? Sabbath + .... Reading Festival Siouxsie & the Banshees Albert Hall 1985 fantastic "Christine !!!!!!!!!!" Cranberrys - Limerick Savoy before they made it - you had to be there Not to mention being on stage at pubs / clubs around London in the mid 80s... biggest miss - could've supported Aswad at the Brixton Academy for a benefit after the riots '81 but the band bottled it ! probably a good thing as the set consisted Led Zep + Lynard Skynard covers !!! you couldn't make it up lol
[cite]Posted By: Bcaddick[/cite]Nobody seen Depeche Mode live? They're the muts nuts... Depeche Mode Pasadena Rose Bowl 1988 oh yes!
Faithless V2001
Yes, twice at the Hammersmith Odeon (Construction Time Again, two nights running) and Cliffs Pavillion, Southend (Broken Frame). Brilliant each time. Second Hammersmith gig is the only time in my life I've bought a ticket from a tout. I went the first night and just had to go back.

I saw a gig on TV a while back I think of that show, I never liked them much at the time but they grew on me, and they are really popular in Germany.
Back to TCE's question. Give us a clue mate, I am guessing it is either someone really cool right back when they started, or someone really ultra naff that you were dragged along to see by a relative? ie - The Stones on Eel Pie island, or Bucks Fizz at Wembley Arena..
Bruce Sprinsteen at Wembley Elton John at Hammersmith The Four Tops at Hammersmith Ian Dury at Hammersmith Eric Clapton at Albert Hall
come to think of it that's probably more or less all the gigs I've ever been to....in fact my 15 y o son has been to more already than I have and I've actullay played in more gigs than I've watched.

my sister was watching them back in the early 80's i think before they made it big. i remember walking up to crook log once for training while she was going to a concert but i refused to walk with her as the get up she had on was ridiculous. i was embarrassed.

Saw Depeche Mode supporting the Undertones at Hammersmith Odeon or Pallis sometime I don't remember. Something I had taken/eated/drunk didn't agree and I was sick on the tube. luckily it was just before our stop. Oh the shame of it now I remember
Strangely people said I looked like the lead singer (it was a long time and about 5 stone ago)
Saw them live lots of times early on. Always good. The lead singer of the Nips was Shane McGowen. He was a piss head even then but a nice guy. Interviewed him once and he was pretty tolerant to a bunch of 15/16 year old spotty fanzine writers.
