Stephen Kavanagh has stepped up to assume a new role as Charlton's managing director, the club announced on Saturday.

Good Luck Steve, nice guy and very on the ball. He may be a bit claret and blue but been at the club for 7 years or so and knows what we are all about, cares about the club and I even heard a rumour his kids might be fans.

Really pleased about this. As Richard Murray said back in May Peter Varney's old role needed to be split and doing it this way means that Steve Waggott can concentrate on a lot of the strategic stuff such as the Olympics.

We will be representing Moanistan who wont be sending a squad as they thought they would lose anyway, it might rain, London is expensive and the tube gets very crowded.

So looking around for a London based group of people who could moan and whinge to Olympic standard they, of course, choose Charlton.

excellent news about the training facilities being in demand for the Olympics, I would imagine this extra revenue could indeed require some high level expertise to bring it about.
