this programme was on the other night and did a bit about the glass and iron exhibition building that i thought i heard the narrator say was called 'crystal palace' as a joke by one of the workmen and the name stuck...funny how even after all this time we still think of crystal palace as a joke...i wonder if that workman was from charlton...

    I think the first Crystal Palace football team was composed of people who worked at the Crystal Palace itself.
